You really sound like you have no idea about the things LL employees have done in the past.

Here it was July 04, the week that the FIRST Island Mall in SL was to open - Which was a big freaking deal then. And after being griefed for over a month by 1 resident, who had been suspended 4 times for harassing me alone (yes 4 times just for me, 10 times total by then).
2 Days before my sim opening, LL suspended me for something I said about this griefer to my best friend since my 2nd day, in *IMs*. SUSPENDED ME FOR WHAT I SAID IN IM!!!!!!

Who else has had their IMs monitored in SL and been suspended for it? Do you think it is or was a common practice? NO. But the person who suspended me was DANIEL LINDEN. And he was best friends with that person who had been suspended 10 times, 4 times for harassing me alone, and who I had said something against the TOS about in IM to 1 other person. And each time that person had been suspended for griefing. Who do you think they sat at the Welcome Area with, or who do you think came and sat at their home parcel with them? DANIEL LINDEN. Hell, even when she was suspended for griefing someone else while we were dating she came back as her alt and guess who came and chilled with us all day in Pandora: DANIEL LINDEN.

So, NO, i do not think this is a hoax. Yes, Lindens are people which is why the react with emotion, they have friends, have partners, and get angry - like the rest of us humans.

Hell yes i think what she is saying is possible ten times over. I've had my freaking IMs monitored and that tells me some Lindens are corrupt abuse their power and are just as fallible and emotional and biased as the rest of us.

You have to know your SL history. The Lindens wrote their TOS in their own fantasy world. An infamous lawsuit had Linden Lab restoring a guys account, his Lindens and his land after he scammed their land store auction process. Just because you make people click 'I agree' before you allow them to download software does not make you infallable.

are you positively sure that you was attacked by a linden lab employee?! , i mean the only linden employees are the Avatars that have their last name as for example: plexus linden, i dont think a linden would go as far as attack you with object or even spam you since all they have to do is basically log you out of secondlife and make up some bullshit excuse to shut your mouth, secondlife is not a government democracy , its a business , and all you have to do as a consumer is to just take your business elsewhere if you are not satisfied. this is not real life and you are not in the middle of a Obama rally with a mccain/palin tshirt this is just a business built into a game.

Daniel doesn't work there anymore. No direct cause and effect, especially since he got into all manner of other mischief, the twit. DOB-yer-neighbor, for example. (Which reminds me: where is Colette?)

There's no love lost between me and G-Team, especially since I've called them out repeatedly for favoring adfarmers, undermining Concierge's efforts and metrics, and just being ludicrously inept. But cubicle-dwelling bottom-feeders or not, they still have some self-interest in not harassing residents in so blatant a way at so visible an event that an appeal would uncover their abuse and send them down Battery Street in the unsavory company of unemployed investment bankers.

Or it would, if real victims appeal, and if that appeal is heard by somebody outside the G-Team chain of command. I know that ban appeals are; not sure about suspensions and other lesser disciplinary actions.

(The cited jira, however, appears to be a gang war between competing guilds of vigilantes, and seems well-closed.)

there is something to be said about hanging out on your own or a friends sim, and when going out into the Sl world keeping your mouth shut, not making waves and generally having a peaceful existance.

I was at a protest site for the SOS. They were all peaceful there.. Playing dido over and over got bit annoying but.. whatever... I went to another part of the demonstration and there were a few women holding signs that were pretty nasty in regards to LL... Using bad language specificly....

I left that area because the sign had nothing to do with SOS and mostly regarded the idiocy (is that a word) of the programers... Which had NOthing to do with the protest anyway......

Mostly people were nice there and I never saw any LL employee.... I dont know if they actually did that and of course we only have your side of the story.. The only LL employee I ever met were 3, and all were so sweet I got a cavity.

I think if a person who HASN'T been banned/suspended or whatever were to open their own JIRA about it, it might have more weight than someone who has. But either way, it'd be closed, because LL doesn't want to hear that it's running things a bit oddly. Keep in mind, they are a private company, not a government. They don't have to worry about an armed revolution, only everyone leaving the moment a competitor comes along.

I expect this thread will be locked soon enough, since there's TOS rules about complaining about bannings/suspensions....but until then

While I've had experiences myself in the past with various Lindens in various states/levels of (laziness/incompetence/etc), I've also seen a wide variety of actions taken by people under the generic label of 'protesting'.

What in specific were you doing during the 'protesting'? Holding up a sign at a meeting? handing out notecards/pics? Shouting protest messages? Interrupting an unrelated Linden-involved meeting?

There's protesting, and then there's protesting in a manner that makes one's self a public nuisance. While the protest itself might not have gotten you a suspension (I've seen public LL meetings with protesters present before, so they do have a certain tolerance level of it), but on the same hand Lindens will tend to deal with rabblerousers or troublemakers.

Plus, what did you do in your own defense? If there were warnings issued, did you respond appropriately? If/when you were pushed/shoved, did you catch it in a log entry, or a video recording?


As you can guess, my point here is that the statement 'I was banned for protesting' is far too pat and simplistic a statement to pass the smell test. It really sounds like there's more to this story than has been said.

For the most part, it is still a matter of "their house, their rules, their decisions". You could possibly fight that, but it will take big bucks and lots of time in our wonderful US legal system.

As said before, in this thread and others: As long as enough of us keep logging in and spending our money, LL will not change unless they truly decide it is in their best interests. So far, none of the stupid or thoughtless things they have done have had enough of a negative impact on me to cause me to leave. Best I can tell, the same is true with the vast majority of the folks here.

LMAO, I got suspended for 7 days for rezzing 3 40x40 huge prims in a sandbox over some mercz group people who were abusing me and rezzing prims over me. I guess it pays to be a linden alt or cuddle buddy.
This place is very soon going the sociolotron way.
