Not sure if this was a rhetorical question, but when I went there it was bare.

I have lots of bare land in SL (well, usually it has a few trees on it). You could probably easily find $125 in tier worth. Most of it is supporting prims for something somewhere else in the sim that you are not seeing there. Bare land doesn't mean anything.

No it was a serious one.

Since if they use the land $125 / month is no biggie. Lots of people spend that much.

I suppose they may have sky boxes / etc.

If they dont use the land - yeah seems pretty dumb to have a sales price it will never sell for.

But then huge tracks of Second Life are empty and people pay tier on it all.

Half the time I wander the grid I expect to see tumbleweeds roll by in the streets.

So true. As I go about looking for land I see the sims that are just sitting there empty. I guess I never gave it much thought until I saw this one that I posted about.

That price is over US$3.2 million. It's obviously not a serious attempt to sell, not even to someone that would hit the button by accident. Not even Anshe would have that kind of bankroll sitting in her account.

Back in the day the website used to list the top 10 Avatar's Linden Account Balances.

It also Listed the 10 Avatars who made the most money in that week,

And a number of other things.

The highest I ever saw anyones balance at was in the 15 Million range and that was an Avatar owned by IGE back when they sold Lindens (well before the LindenX)

That makes sense also.
I actually have a 512 that I am using to bump up my other 512's that I am trying to rent out, which I am still not having any luck with.
