Campfire rudely sets visitors aflame

I have a decorative campfire just outside the entrance to my abode. Time and again I've seen unwary visitors blunder into it and catch fire. No damage is done, but I'm sure it's seems -- unwelcoming. Luckily there's an ocean nearby where they can put themselves out, but most of the time they just leave.

These are people I don't know - they just happen by. I like visitors. I don't want to run them off, but I also like my fire. Are there decorative camp fires (not huge bonfires) that don't ignite people? I had enough trouble finding this one. I wonder if I can safely delete the script I see when I click on edit. It has nice particle smoke I don't want to lose. -- KC

your fire ignites people?

then a dip in the ocean douses the flames?

Interactivity is a plus for visitors... even if it is an act of self immolation =^.^= I know I'd play cooked Jilly kitty quite a bit were I to come across such a thing.

You could put a protective dome over the fire which prevents people from being able to walk into it, and make it completely transparent with a texture. That way you can keep it and protect people from themselves.

It sounds like a fun fire though. Few creators go through the trouble of making fires ignite people, let alone being able to douse when the avatar altitude is detected being below the sim's water height...

Can't mention names, but here's landmark to where I bought it:

Astylus 78,121,128

I thought of contacting the creator, but her profile says she's AFK until January!

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Can't mention names, but...

The "naming names" rule really only matters when you are saying bad things about someone. When just discussing who created an item of interest, we give names all the time with no problem. :)

... and I totally want one of those fires! :D

(Oh, and we also name names when talking smack about certain Lindens... but that is usually in discussions about their blog posts, so the situation is already public.)

Thank you. Some of those are perfect! I can save the dangerous fire for any griefers that may show up someday. ;-)

I like the invisible shield idea too. That would be easy and wouldn't block the particles. It could be deleted if I ever want to play a joke on someone.

I have a low prim, scripted, decorative beach fire for sale at my store for $49L. It has touch on/off flames and realistic light that emits from it, as well as flame sound.

Marketting only works if you can buy the product being offered. As there's nothing at the SLURL mentioned, and Kona Island seems unreachable (for the moment), it looks pretty hard to buy, or even view it.

Pity, I'd love one...
