I *almost* got Ajaxlife to run on my iPod Touch a couple of times. It actually got all the way logged in once and mobile Safari proceeded to crash back to springboard.

My wife and I are planning on picking up the new iPhones when they are available. I use my Touch all the time to check for offline IMs and such when I'm away from the house (and within range of a wifi hotspot, of course).

Last word I heard was that the 8GB iPhone will be available for $199, the 16GB for $249, along with an appropriate 2 year plan. Also, if you've purchased a current iPhone on or after May 27th, you can trade it in direct when the new ones are available. Not sure I'd want to buy now and lose that couple hundred dollars on the upfront cost, though.

I heard it was $299 for the 16gb version. a $100 premium over the 8gb iPhone. Which is worth it. I doubt many will opt for the 8gb version.

o2 in the UK have a similar upgrade offer.

They also seem to have a PAYG option which surprised me!

Oh, and when Steve said the new iPhone starts at 200 dollars around the world, he wasn't kidding. It starts at £100 in the UK. Nice because we usually get ripped off here.

I'm still waiting for an iPigeon. An apple robot bird that you can attach messages to its leg and then throw it out the window. How cool would that be?.

Just don't forget to charge it first!.

I look at it this way: Some people buy things because it gives them "status." Some people don't buy things because it gives them "status."

Either way, it's silly.

Me, I like some of the features it has, which is what tipped my hand. So some people view it as a "status symbol?" Isn't avoiding it based purely on that supposed "status" kinda like doing the same thing?

iPhone - worth being afraid of thugs dictating what you should carry with you? I'll be getting an iPhone regardless

Though with that security cam footage, how do we know the iPhone user wasnt being an annoying twit. I've occasionly felt like doing something regretful when people holding a conversation get overly loud and annoying. He may not of been trying to steal it.
