Yup I have... I contribute regularly to a WIKI at work, and it's LOTS easier... I don't even know WHERE to put an SL Dictionary... Maybe in the Community Development portal?

There are only four portals to choose from..none of which are entirely appropriate. Communtiy Development does seem the most appropriate, however when you examine it..it's totally inappropriate..but more appropriate than any of the others..confused..I am

Oryx Tempel and I are hoping to put this thing on the 'Wiki'..and we could do with HEAPS more entries..thanks to all who have contributed so far..bur we do need a load more to make it worth while.

Please keep the terms/words/phrases coming..along with their definitions..:D

I've put in a request to add a new portal called "General Knowledge" to the wiki which hopefully could replace the lame Knowledge Base that LL has up. I've also requested that the wiki be more user-friendly to those of us who aren't programmers. I've also requested that, after this new portal is added, the wiki is readily accessible from the SL website (more so than it is now, at any rate.) Vote for WEB-279 in the JIRA to show your support!

Yes the portal options are very limited and could do with a few more categories.

Thought I'd revive the thread and see if we can't get a few more entries for the dictionary.

SLagtastic:

The environment of Super- Lag you can only experience on a night when SL is seriously f&*^*&d up.

This is opposed to Lagtastic - which is SL at its normal resting state whenever more than 30k are logged on.

Shoe Buggery : Finding ones shoes (and any other attachment you are wearing including but not exclusive to Prim Hair, jewelery, prim clothing) centred on your avatar's ass.

(I believe i was the first to coin this phrase- my only claim to SL fame)

Sploder - slang for Exploder. Possibly banned piece of club furniture. Generally hangs from the ceiling in a club. Club goers and owners put money into the Sploder and after a few minutes it "Splodes" distributing the money in uneven random amounts, generally accompanied by a huge number of Woots and excessive sound gesture use.

Interesting the things you find when you run around old threads :)

"grief"- a word with a once valid and specific meaning that has been reduced to a doublespeak word meaning "that which i don't like." Similar to the RL words "terrorism" and "evil."

and "gay" aswell. One of my personal favourites.

A guy at work called me a terrorist for stealing his mouse mat yesterday. But that was okay because I called him sub-human scum. It was all good clean fun.

wow, we forgot

traffic (n): a number representing the number of people who visit a site and how long they stay. Displays on the right side of the Search/Places tab. The exact method of determing traffc has never been completely publicized by Linden Lab; replaced "Dwell." Traffic is generally viewed as the popularity measure of a particular site; the higher the number, the more popular the site. Some merchants have used the traffic system to their advantage by encouraging people to remain at their site to produce unrealistically high traffic numbers. See also [game, camping]

game (v): to manipulate a system to a particular advantage. Generally viewed negatively; interpreted as abusing the system or playing unethically.

Linden (n): (1) An employee of Linden Lab. (2) A unit of Second Life currency. Is not considered to be of value with respect to global "Real Life" currencies. May be purchased, traded, or sold between residents of Second Life.

Linden (v): to inadvertently affect one part of a system by changing another, apparently unrelated, part of the system. Generally negative.

I've started transferring the replies into a standard format..bit like your last post Oryx..and into alphabetical order then saving them in a 'Word' document, hopefully I can just copy them into the Wiki.
