OK clarification needed here. Are we talking about

1) Sex several times a day for two weeks, vs. internet access? Or,

2) Sex once in two weeks, vs. intenet access?

I mean there is a huge difference here.

In the case of # 1, who has time for the internet?

Here is the difference... the heart of the matter.

Most women can get sex (i am just talking about a legover here.. nothing earth shattering.. and nothing of quality either) relatively easily...

Imagine this .. a woman goes up to random 10 guys.. and says, 'wanna shag (no strings attached)' and she will get more than a few takers...
a guy on the other hand goes up to 10 random women and says 'wanna shag (no strings attached)' and a whole different scenario will play out.. involving brushoffs, insults and maybe even physical violence and lawkeepers.

You can choose sex instead? Cool. Where do I sign up?

Someone smarter than me might interpret that statement to mean you're just not very imaginative.

You know, I've heard this before as well - often, starting a long, long time ago. Being male, I didn't believe it back then, and I still don't believe it now.

I'm genuinely curious about how the data for this mythical "study" was obtained. I mean, if you take in a test subject and actually ask him to tell you every time he thinks about sex, you've contaminated your experiment before it's even begun. Like playing The Game, where merely thinking about The Game constitutes losing The Game, or going up to somebody and specifically directing them NOT to think of an elephant.

This opens up a new rating system for consumer items.

Instead of star rating, give them a 'weeks without sex' rating - male and female.

Haha then I should have high star rating for both gender groups.

I don't know if it's true either. I'd say it varies from man to man cuz I know one man who thinks about sex all day long! My rl bf's friend. He's a sex addict plain and simple. lol

Though I do think testosterone does make a difference in causing man to think about sex a heck of a lot more than a woman. Also when woman has "things" weighing on her mind, i.e. children problems, teacher problems, school peer problems, bills and laundry piling up, someone ill in the family, woman have a harder time turning off the worries than men do. I'd say men are more like a faucet one can turn of or off a whole lot easier than a woman. I'm a rl woman and I think woman are more complex. Though I am all for quickies mind you!

Wait -- if we give up sex for two weeks for the internet...does that get us the internet for only two weeks, or for as long as the life of an item like a TV? That makes a difference to me in this choice. Do the guys only get the big TV for 6 months? Aaah, there are way too many vague variables in this "study."

A busy life means little or no opportunity to actually GET a partner. Liek others who have written, I am on teh road often and cannot possibly forego my career for a man. I use sl only late at night when I have finished my day. Hotel room/house and SL. Or a short relationship which ends up emotionally draining? Internet seems pretty good to me. Its not the sex that is the point here, its all teh other things that are in the package - obligations and having to be appealing to someone when work is supremely important. Yeah, I'll take teh internet.

Two weeks eh? I guess it depends how good the sex was..........Nah, I could resist using the internet for two weeks.

Although my partner refuses to believe this is true, I could easily go without sex for two weeks. Way longer in fact. Geez, it took me (mumble mumble) years before I dated again between husbands; didn't date at all. I was in no mood for men at all in that time period so 2 weeks would be a cinch.

But the internet? I'd be completely lost, withdrawal like a drug addict. It would be ugly.
