Immersion vs. Augmentation....

Well, now that we can have bouncy boobies in the Emerald viewer, maybe I will try a little augmentation... so I can fall off my chair laughing. :p

OKOK, seriously, to answer the question, I'm not certain that immersion and augmentation are mutually exclusive. People may tend toward one or the other or any mix of the two.

There is some great input here :) The other think I was thinking yesterday was about categorizing ppl that are in SL...if we could put some kind of you know 'labeling'...i.e immersionists, roleplayers, money seekers etc.

Would love to hear your ideas on that as well ;)

Try and hang a label on ME, buster, and you'll find yourself orbited clear to Zindra. Besides, the label would be too long, even if the print was too fine to read.

You wanna label yourself, fine. There are lots of ways to do it. Your Profile, for one. Or wear a titler.

You should see the teens at the high school. They have iPhones, netbooks, you name it ~ and they dress in a funky manner that puts SL residents to shame.

My own daughter walked into school with black lace gloves to the elbows and mismatched colorful socks this morning, and that's just the stuff I saw, not whatever else after I drive off. She's literally shown up at the school with cat ears before.

And you know what, she's downright *normal* compared to the mall goths, punks, gangsta's and so forth... yes it's one of those fancy high schools where the parents and teachers let the overachieving kids do whatever whacko thing they want.

I'd definitely call that augmentation. Take all that stuff away and you'd have... a bunch of ordinary kids. Oh noes not that!
