well if you want to track u need the sensors...

and i truely dont beleave it can cause that much lag...
i allmost never have any lag, so maybe its time an ISP upgrade or a PC upgrade instead.. heh no offence :)
What do you want to track? The popularity of your parcel? There is a traffic rating automatically handled in your "About Land" window which gives you that detail. And if you want to get a better idea for what parts of your land are more popular, subdivide your land into multiple parcels. Since you own it the land, you can use the prims from each individual parcel as if they were all one (if they are all in the same sim) and then you have a seperate traffic rating for each area with NO scripts.

As for my ISP... that would be latency, which I do not have any issues with. My PC is up to date and relatively new. No issues with my system. I am talking about server lag due to the server having to run the sensors and tracking all the data.

Not happy about Linden Labs purchase of XStreet (formerly SLX) and OnRez. Will this mean LL will ban resident run online shoping outlets in favor of their own?

I'm certain many of the successful stores are using tools like that. For businesses on the traditional web, such tracking is *invaluable* to improving the user experience. I've been meaning to add something like that to my own land, but... I'm tired...
As a business person in SL, and someone who has run successful ventures WITHOUT tracking people who didn't give me money, how is this "invaluable" to improving user experience?

I understand wanting to know who has come to your parcel I suppose and for how long, and how often.

But any curiosity should end when they leave your parcel. Their business isn't everyone elses business.

I would personally rather just know by a generic label rather than specific name. Like Avatar A was here for at x,y,z time, while avatar B was here at v time.

well for those who are concerned -

If say 1 in 10 people who come into the store buy something. You might want to figure out how to make it 3 in 10 , etc.

true that, but its not everyone who what to use it like this...
i didnt even think that thought before you said it..

but the problem with inworld scripts as you probberly also know is the memory in them...
they cant count exsample a 1000 unik counts...
i beleave it max can hold a 100 or so before the script starts all over..

So have it print out a report before it resets itself.

I agree, improving sales is definitely a great thing... :D ...but with a good business strategy and proper planning, there are ways to engage your customers in volunteering information without "Big Brother" stopping by for a visit. :)

Has anyone had his/her avatar tracked? There's a new SL traffic monitoring tool (slogbase) available to landowners who want to track avatar traffic to and within their land - by avatar name!

Just curious if any landowners have started using it. You would know because the tool is supposed to give you a message when it "detects" you, to tell you that you were tracked.

Not sure this is what you're referring to, but on two separate occasions I tp'd into a potential dance venue to see what it was like...decided it wasn't for me and left after no more than a minute or two. In each case there were no other people present. The next day I received a group invite.

Figuring it was some kind of a tracking device.

That's also a TOS violation. That sort of marketing is expressly prohibitted in the TOS. People really need to start reading the TOS and Community Standards. People who spam in IM, with Group Invites, or with Inventory Offers deserve to be banned.

Is it a TOS violation or Community standards?

They arent the same thing.

You cant even get the Lindens to read the Community Standards,
