Without getting mixed up in an argument here - I think teh comment was meant to suggest that people actually use a wheelchair in sl who may not be disabled and it suggested that these are NOT veterans. And if you doubt that I once saw a woman with NO arms and legs in a redlight district who was prowling for people that liked that sorta thing. I dont think anyone was casting aspersions on veterans.

I thought it was like a sanitorium for old avatars???? Honest I really did. Are we aging as a population THAT rapidly???

It's the part of the avatar you see if someone leaves the lid up. (^_^)y

Heh... Considering the level of derail (including my own contributions (>_<;) ), I guess I have to assume that I'm just finding myself in the right place, at the right time, all the time when it comes to avoiding harassment. (=_=)

Still... It's good to hear where everyone's line is. I'm rest assured I cross it on quite a few of you... Except for the pink frilly stuff and ikklespeak. I guess I gotta have my line too. (^_^)y

Line crossed = child looking avi and/or kid stuff in vicinity of sex equipment. As per LL policy.

BTW, what to the little folks in rl think of this? ("dwarves", "midgets", etc.)
A lot of them look like kids but are all grown up. Are they illegal in the USA?
Should the government be rounding them up and banishing them for looking like kids?

So a RL comparison to some SL issues...

I know at least 4 RL Wheelchair bound Avatars that run Wheels in SL (most the time ) and other times get up and do what they cant in RL :)

I am a vet, but I am not going to where my Uniform, I had enough war and being a non civilian back then!

Imnot... I think thats a great first AV, mine... OH my!! was I a fugly noob! not that I look so hot now ROFL!

your Avatars always look great, at least the ones I see in your forum icons and picks, never meeting you in SL (that I know of LOL

kid AVs as long as its not in a sex area .. ror even looking at pose balls (what were they thinking!!) I don't care for the ikkle speak, but I can deal with it some if its not every other word! ..

I did have a 6-8 year old fishing on my pond one day we had some great chat, very minor ikle speak) and she was very into showing off stuff like poofers and TP poofers and such, I liked it .it reminded me of when I first found things in SL, that excitement you get with NEW(unlike the adult AVs that thin its un cool to say WOW look at this hey I can do this lol) was like a MAD TV skit :D:D:D it was that RP of child like AWE!... not she was not that new. was very nice and acted mature as well I appreciated the note in the profile "I am a child AV but an adult I may even be a mermaid or vampire or ... etc"... thats what SL is for to have fun and play.. (well to me anyway)

Avatarim is the Hebrew male/default male plural for avatar. If you are talking about a group of female SL residents, they are avatarot. Hebrew has separate plurals for male and female. All this started some years ago. I am on the net under a collection of other names who function as a family. All of them are family. I wanted to distinguish them from other personnae who are often used maliciously, so I used the Hebrew plural for them and t hey became my avatarot. When I use the plural for avatar, I try to use the Hebrew.

Immy,

I always thought that you had found the line, and enjoyed skipping back and forth across it just to see the reactions. I've not seen you inworld much, but the time I can recall, you had a cute av, but dressed in what I would describe as a slutty mesh outfit that would look really great on certain ladies that I know. On the child av, it was more than a little unnerving. I don't know how normal that was for you or how others saw it, that's just one opinion of one outfit/avvie combo.

Kid avs in general don't creep me out. I was a kid avatar for a couple days to have fun in the Kids5B sims, and I really enjoyed it. I may drop back into the kid avatar sometime for a little fun, but it's not really my thing. I do get annoyed by extreme ikklespeak. There's one person in a really chatty group that I'm in that talks like a 2 year old with a concussion, lisp, and swollen tongue. I could do without that, but most of the kids that I've talked to find a really good balance. Their fun to be around and welcome to my island at any time.

Happy Rezday,
I don't particular care about labels you're cute and you look like you're have
good time.
As long as you're not breaking the TOS and having good time it really shouldn't matter
yet unless you live on private Island and never encounter other people there still going
to be those type of people out there if you know what I mean.
Usually the annoying or strange types.
This is picture of one of my first pictures when I was child before
I got baby a fancier baby avatar. I didn't know how to take photos.
I got tired of BS that why I quit wearing my baby avatars
This is me camping wearing my first prim shirt and skirt which the inventory
monster ate.

I got tired of having people ask me if I get approached by Pedophiles
and all the other weird stuff.
At that and still occassionally now I sometimes have been known to
tell naughty jokes and hop on wrong pose ball out of curiosity nothing
sexual for me when I do so and I can see the uproar and ugliness if
I did it with this avatar on.
I can't be myself so I don't put this one on any more.
This is my child avatar I really like and only human avatar I have bought that I also don't wear any more. My best friend also find him creepy and that also why I quit wearing him.

Infact I don't even wear a short avatar any more for this reason. I didn't get the
creepiness of this until one of my friends friend who wears tiny pink hippo
tp a friend over who only wears a tail, no clothes with skin with hugest most realistic nipples I have ever seen on a avatar and was calling her Mommy.
It is all innocent nothing out of order for them but for me this person's cuteness and personality and how she handles her self in SL is just plain creepy to me.
Especially when her "Mommy" was nude and it felt creepy for some reason to have to see tiny pink hippo, hug naked Female with a tail. And her constant need be too cute and to sit on every females knee that happens to be in room.
It creeps me out, I don't know why it just does.
I have met at least one person into sexual age play in world and that really creeped out too.
It was personally decision but I just won't wear a child avatar any more
There few things I won't do any more in SL but you won't see me wearing child avatar again. It is on top of my list of things you won't see me do any more..

Happy Rezday,
I've always considered you probably were on the line, if you were in the wrong places you could be in trouble. :)
I've never found you offensive at all, or creepy or cute, but I don't find kids cute in general, but having known you on the forums I take you as your personality not your avatar.

I partnered a werewolf once and I can assure you he was werewolf through and through. I also made love to a jellyfish on a island sim and oooo those tentacles!!!!

What does creep me out are avatarim who are in wheel chairs and avatarim in military uniforms. Sorry, I've known too many handicapped individuals (Usually people my own age recovering from broken bones) in real life, to find imitations of them attractive. I think "what does someone who is really handicapped think?"

As for the military, we've lost over 4,000 service people in Iraq alone, not to mention all those who return wounded. The last thing I need to see is someone wearing my country's unifrom and pretending to be a soldier, sailor, or marine.

I understand where you're coming from, Ivoba, and totally respect it, as I do our military.

Another viewpoint - I met a male AV awhile back while waiting for a class. The first thing I noticed was his skin - it was awesome - very creative in an artistic manner. Since making skins is a deep mystery to me, I was commenting on his unique skin, then I noticed on one leg he was wearing what looked exactly like the type of prosthetic leg I've seen athletes wear who have lost a limb. I hesitated a moment, then asked if that was indeed what I thought it was. He said it was and as we talked a bit more, he said that he lost his leg RL in Vietnam and felt like "himself" wearing it in SL as well as perhaps being an encouragement to others in SL who may be disabled. He was not wearing a military uniform, however, and I sensed him to be sincere.

The other example you mentioned was a wheelchair. I've mentioned in the forums previously that a group of us decided to see what it felt like "walking a mile in another's shoes" for a week - seeing what that person/AV went through in their daily SL lives. Everyone chose something completely different than their normal AV and included a child avatar, a Caucasian couple who wore African-American avatars, a female RL and in SL who wore a male AV, my partner and I were furries for a week....and one woman chose being in a wheelchair. Again, it was to help us understand others better, not to mock anyone in any way.

Losing 4,000 people in Iraq is nothing compared to our war history ...

It's certainly nothing compared to the half a million and more Iraqis who lost their lives in Dubya's disgraceful oil-rush. Nothing to celebrate there.

The reason you haven't met a cute kid is *because* you don't have one.

Avatar actually comes from Sanskrit. It means the incarnation of a god.

The etymological plural would be (transliterated into roman letters) Avatara.

Where do you draw the line between cute and creepy? =^-^=

And...

Why does it seem to be that ~yours truly here~ happens to be on the safe side of that line? (O.o)

Bunnies are cute. Girls are creepy.

Case closed.

Ok I guess the creepiest ones are those who are lil and talk funny, but still have lots of make-up on. And I saw one girl who was 8, and she walked just like that woman I saw at a store who had almost no clothes on. That was extra icky.
