Hi.

I find that every time I log off, I have about 6500 items, all sorted and all in the right folders... Next time I log into Second Life........ BANG, it's 25.000 items or more, and they're all over the place :-D

SO, how many items do you have in your inventory, and do you keep them sorted in the right folders?

I have been the victim of so many asset server issues I don't even try anymore. :D

I clear my invo out often.. box up stuff I don't use and sort notecards and landmarks. I used to buy organization boxes/scripts etc. Then once I took about three days to carefully sort and box items, then when done put them all in a nice box to help the asset server out.

Then there was another period of time when stuff was poofing on people.. I was in the first wave and my box was a victim of the carneage. lol

So, no clue how much I have.. no over the top organizing.. I just see everything I have as day to day.

I spent 3 days reducing my 15,000 item inventory down to about 7000. It's back a just under 10,000 items again and like Mac, I bought an organiser but my concern is that if I stick all my items in this one box and that box goes then that's far worse than having the asset cluster nibble away at individual items.

I do try to sort but nowhere near as well as some here it seems but then I try to spend my limited time enjoying SL and not "sorting inventory" which I find less fun.

Sassy.. if I can persuade you at all, do NOT trust one box. That box I lost had tons of no copy items that you can't even find in SL anymore. Not to mention Linden Bears (about 30) that I had collected, personal builds that just had one copy in there.. etc etc.

If it is copyable stuff.. use a few boxes. Single copies, try to spread out some.

I use Second Inventory for full perm items now (My stuff mostly).

Oh that's ok Mac, I don't so I haven't. It seemed like a good idea at the time but i've never put anything in it yet and besides the constant opening and copying to inventory would then leave me with a constant tidy up.

I change outfit and hair half a dozen times a day so it would be rather tedious.

lol. Yeah, I can see where it might be.

Boxes are great for backups.. not good for stuff you use often.

I have about 7000 items. I try to keep it to around 5000 so I'm overdue for a cull.
When I think about it, I doubt I actually use more than a few hundred of those items.

I sort of, kind of, almost keep it organised.

In almost 2 years I have never lost any inventory.

Just cleared the clutter a bit this evening. I'd drifted up over 10,000, and got rid of enough to be around 9500 or a little under. I still have some sorting to do, but it's headed in the right direction.

Way, way, way too many.

That's not counting incrementals I've trashed in the past.

Plus about that many plywood cubes

items 7230, if everything was taken out of boxes, probably 25,000 plus items

For a long time i tried to keep it under 10,000
But then i got my 1000th calling card. There is no way to box up calling cards. So I started to think its a losing battle. I let it get up to 12,000 now.

That happened to me, too. Over a year ago, now, when I first started being conscious of my inventory size. I lost a box of textures that was no-copy because there was one no-copy item in it. I can't say the textures were worth alot, but i did spend alot of time putting all of these similar textures together in one box, and deleting the originals to save inventory space. *poof*. So, I don't put no-copy items in them, anymore. That kinda limits their usefulness.

I did not see a pie option in that poll.

I'm hovering jes above 30,000 items.

Haven't checked today, but I think it's around 15,000.

I do try to keep it all organized, really I do. But then places like Retrology have anniversary celebrations and I pick up boxes, and people keep making new skins and hair and I have to pick up the demos, and and and...once again, I will be spending some time sorting my inventory.

I like to keep mine at 10.000 but it's back up to 11.570, perhaps I will sort it tomorrow or the day after.

Lots more than I had before I went to that hair sale on Truth Island yesterday lol.

I used to try to keep it down to 5000 ... then 10,000 ... now I try and keep it under 14,500.

It's all well organised exept for landmarks and rather a lot of things called "object".

Thank you for doing this poll, I don't feel nearly so bad about it now. :)

No, but the "Every Single Item" choice is close to Pi.............

I have around 8,500 items.

I have about 13,500 in inventory and then I have boxed items as well. It is pretty well orgainized, for example I have a landscaping folder with a plant sub folder and in that are sub sub folders for Flowers, Trees, Bushes and greens. Same for clothes etc, they all have sub folders.
