Alazade, you can go through the whole virtual pregnancy thing and get a prim baby. here's a bit more of info http://metaverse.acidzen.org/2008/virtual-pregnancy And when baby grows up, you'll have to find an avatar to adopt it :)

Marianne, that was great! I'm sending you a candy bar for being so helpful! Your parents must be very proud!

good write up as usual Mari!!!

That OOC part is very important! Say a swing set in the backyard... have it be a OOC area, then either a parent or child can simply say, "let's go swing for awhile:)" If someting is bother any involved in the family relationship is must be discussed. And a OOC area must be there.

What she said!

My family has never had such a space set aside for that, we jes bring it up in conversation as needed. I kinda like that way better, Toy.

I believe you agree on when they will log on to act as your child, and you will pay them for their time.

I wanted to be able to have babyhood and grow into child, etc but I am just rotten as child personally.
I really didn't ever get adopted and some friends I was closest to didn't like the realistic baby avatar I was wearing and it sometimes misbehaves.
I didn't need a home or allowance for someone to be my Family when I was doing it.
The whole ageplay thing even the innocent type creeps so many out and the whole implications around it got bit uncomfortable and even if I want to be bad but innocent rated PG south park like cigar smoking, trash talking baby that would limit and cause me trouble in my Second Life so I gave it up.
If I do it again it will be in private space and as Pugsley like character, I don't feel comfortable
exploring or going places I don't know as kid myself.
Prim babies are easier less hassle if you got to go that route, no allowances too.

Oh Caithe I know. I know.

*

Apron strings
Waiting for you pretty things
That I could call you
I want someone to tie to my
Lonely apron strings.

Your baby looks just like you when you were young
And he looks at me with eyes that shine
And I wish that he were mine
Then I go home to my

Apron strings
Cold and lonely for time brings
Thoughts that only
Will be quiet when someone clings
To my apron strings.

And I'll be perfect in my own way
When you cry I will be there
I'll sing to you and comb your hair
All your troubles I will share

For apron strings
Can be used for other things
Than what they're meant for
and you'd be happy wrapped in my
Apron strings

Fight it, dear. Fight it. You do NOT want one of those god awful talking bellies. It is sooooo uncool.

Oh and welcome. :)

Another Piers Anthony fan??

For the OP, here's my smart ass answer:

First you stick your prim penis in her prim vagina. Then click on the HUD device or poseball that animates the avatars.

After several seconds/minutes of pixel sex, you're done.

Within 9 login cycles, she'll be pregnant.
:D

Don't forget you have to buy a scripted pregnancy test, and if the little plus sign shows up after you've virtually pissed on the thing, then you're pregnant.

The weird thing is I'm a guy and used one of those things out of boredom, and I turned up pregnant. Then suddenly my belly was talking to me. It kept demanding beer.

This then brings about the concept of the wingman. He is called wingman because he holds the cock blockers wings to keep her from flapping around.

A corollary to this is "pelican sex." You know, how certain species of pelicans will let their offspring peck at their necks and drink their blood to survive. Similarly, a girl might have sex with the ugly guy in order for her friend to get laid with his better looking friend. Self-sacrifice and all.

Well, if I *do* have children in SL, I have absolutely no idea who the father could be...or what RGB color the skin will be...

First time poster, long time lurker. (waves to crowd)

Another option is to do what I did. I made my own little sister as an alt account. With simultaneous logins, we get to run around and do stuff together. The biggest challenge is moving in tandem, but we've solved that to some degree by using a double-rider for my horse, or via a nifty little wagon I can pull my little sis around with.

Matter of fact, we're riding around Grendel's right now, looking at all the stuff. We'll probably stop by Livingtree later so Britny can run off some energy.

If you can do multiple logins you could get account for baby and move him or her around with baby stroller, and those great baby avatars from Avatar Island but only thing about the baby shapes is you need to be in place its script enabled.

Adopting can be a hassle though for both child and parent.
It´s hard to find a child or parent that fit your needs.
Adoption most of the time end up in a dissapointment 9 out of 10 time.
And yet still people even I keep on trying to find a parent.
