Teen Grid Joining OUR Grid?

There would need to be a tool or method of blocking IMs between teens and adults. Once you get a pair of people in IMs, anything goes. Bloody freaking anything. (>_<

I understand your story, Briana. I was "seeked out" as well. My public persona has been a magnet for happenings like that. All I can do is AR, AR, AR for underage. (T_T)

I don't mind teens - I work with and FOR them in most real respects - I am an entertainer so that means I dont see many aspects of them that many of you might see. If you like I am the "DiskJockey" and YOU are the educators and parents. So ... this teen issue IS complex. Should WE - as an adult group allow them "in"?

I think most of us do not MIND teens. What we mind are TEENS involving themselves in our ADULT pursuits, locations, activities, by means of deception.

Brianna, we want them with us BUT we dont want them WITH us? I was a teen about 8 years ago so I know what they are capable of. Maybe parents see something in young men I dont catch on to. I dont MIND them as long as they stay away from me - they are smeggy and gauche.

I have had my entire SL experience changed because of one teen sneaking into the main grid and sending an ungodly amount of unsolicited love letters to me which at the time went to my house family email. SO yes, i am rather freaked out as to what can happen when / if the grid is invaded with them.

I want protection.

LL better institute the tools necessary for us to separate our experiences from teens at will.

I had a similar experience Briana,I had a 16 yr old boy tell me he loved me , bought me gifts in SL.It was a short while after he confessed his real age to me. The only protection we have or will have is the teen grid staying the teen grid, if you want to play with teens then go to WOW. Age verification while not 100% is better than nothing.
It was said that we should trust the teens and I will agree most teens are very dependable but its those few who are not that are the worry. As i have said before you would not be advocating that teens be allowed to drink now would you ?

Jig, let's think about this for a minute: If they were to merge the grids, or in some manner open the main grid to teens, where would they go? Surely they would not be allowed on Mature or Adult regions, which pretty much limits them to PG lands. Now, once you have all the children (and I don't mean child avatars) corralled in one place, basically, wouldn't that make them all sitting targets for pedophiles? Or are you going to believe that all the perverts (and not the good kind) and sexual deviants are going to contain themselves to the Adult regions?

It's not just sexual deviancy that can get adults into real trouble with teens. Think about how much damage one malevolent teen could do to an adult's life with just a few simple words. It doesn't matter whether or not such claims are false - adult misconduct with minors is one of those crimes where one is NOT innocent until proven guilty; and even if the adult is acquitted, he's still "guilty".
