Adult Continent Help

It seems that if you put a ? at the end of a url it supposedly works, although apart from in my signature (which only shows in IE) it's not done so for me.

it you preview it and when it puts the url wrapper around it change url to img it works, but not for everyone it seems..

If you're using Firefox, search the FF addons for Greasemonkey, and install it. Then go to the top of the Resident Forums stickies, and find the one mentioning BBCode Emulation in Greasemonkey, and install the script within. It will cause URLs to be read properly, along with most other BBCode functions.

Thinking about it, it's probably time to abandon that other thread, it's waaay outlived it's usefulness as a Q&A. Although some of the topics the caravan has meandered through have been pretty interesting.

Can we please get a CONCISE definition what "Verified" means in order to access Adult Content? A concise definition of that would be nice too. Will it be PIOF or the Aristotle IDV, or some combination of both, or will there be different levels, as in anm estate can require IDV above and beyond PIOF? And is there a plan to fix IDV, as it has been hopelessly broken since it was rolled out, and many people who wish to verify haven't been able to?

This is the lynchpin of the whole plan and it still isn't clear, at least to me, what is what.

I wish they would leave that thread as a place for people to vent, have this one hear as a place to discuss issues about the move, and have a third one that is strictly Q&A, with a warning that anything that isn't strictly Q&W without posturing or positioning, will be deleted. As it is now, all serious questions get buried under the ten-thousandth "suggestion" to make a PG continent instread.

True, but I think the specifics of who will be moving is far from set in stone. So I would hate to see people put in a lot of effort preparing to move, only to find out they don't have to. But it's no sweat off my brow I guess.

For me, the info here, about moving large numbers of linked and unlinked items is still very useful. I actually do not figure I will have to move my house to the new Adult continent, but a lot of what I learned here sure would have made my most recent move (due to normal home relocation stuff) a whole lot easier if I had known it then.

Some notes from what I have gathered so far:

1: If you are a private island sim owner with multiple sims, and you only want to flag ONE of them as Adult, the Adult flagged sim will have to be moved so it is not contiguous with your Mature or PG sims. No clear answer yet as to weather the Lindens will accommodate that move for free. Probably it will be at your expense.

2: So far, access to the adult flagged regions will be for anyone with either Payment info on file OR a successful Aristotle Adult age check. Either wil work as the first gating factor for a sim flagged as "Adult". Then after passing that gate, it will check estate restrictions, so a region that is not "Public" and requires being part of a group to access the sim still has that level of security access controls.

3: For moving complex builds, eliminate all Linden Plants prior to trying to pick things up and move! It will save you a world of headaches.

4: If you are moving a complex build, make sure all the people who own content there are available and ready to move when the time comes. If your land has stuff left behind by some Resident who is no longer active in SL, and no one is in a position to take it into inventory, you'll lose that stuff.

5: No-copy items that are deeded to a group can be taken into inventory by group members who have permission to modify and move group-owned objects. Anything deedeed to a group will need to become part of someone's personal inventory during the move.


The Lindens have stated clearly that they will do _nothing at all_ to prevent land speculators from buying up land in Ursula, once it becomes available for purchase, and raising the prices to insane levels for the only available "Adult-approved" land on the Mainland. If the Lindens decline to give you a free move, but you WANT to move to Ursula preserve your options, you'll have to sell your old land on your own and and buy at the mercy of the speculators. You will most likely get screwed royally on that exchange.

On the mainland - there really is no such thing as "zoning" per se. You can have commercial, residential, whatever. The whole zoning thing is really just a creation of the private estate owners in response to people complaining (understandably) about how you can buy a plot on a nice low-lag sim and make a nice house - then a huge club moves in and it takes you five minutes to walk upstairs in your house because of the lag.

I have heard no talk of mainland (Ursual Continent or others) adding any type of 'zoning' like this.
