There is a trick to turning up the tree LOD, but I can't make sense of it. I think the wiki that covers it was made before the Client Server menus were turned into the Advanced menu. (=_=)
If someone has a step-by-step for turning up the tree LOD I would LOVE to know. My hardware can handle it and I would like to see nicer trees for longer distances too. (=_=)y _____________________

I wish the defaults didn't make avatars look like sh*t...playing with the environmental editor should be OPTIONAL, something you do when you want a special effect.

Makes me sad. The linden trees look like shi(r)t anyways. maybe it'll be incentive for LL to update for 2008. Looking at one blowing in the wind makes me wonder where the hurricane-level wind blasts are coming from |

There still is this: RenderVolumeLODFactor but I'm not at home to try it out. (=_=)y Aha! Try RenderTreeLODFactor set to about 4.0 (instead of the 0.5 default). Takes effect immediately, don't need to relog. (Sorry, Ann, the RenderNekoLODFactor doesn't seem to work.) _____________________

Open a support ticket on it, then close the support ticket. They seem to like responding to those. Ha, after they had the Support Portal up and running, they finally answered something I'd emailed Support about like 3 or 4 months prior...by that point, I'd already long since found a solution and barely remembered sending the email. _____________________
