No, no Weston ... the solenoids you'd wear would be fed from the animation. SL would teach you *how* to dance! We'd be at the mercy of the scripters .. and the lag! What would happen when you 'stand up' from an anim and do the floaty flying thing?

A few years back, I had an Elsa Gladiac Graphics card and LCD glasses that by alternating the monitor view and lens transparency gave a stereoscopic view. It was dynamite in Flight Simulator and what game arenas were about at the time. Great shame it never really caught on.

I know for some specialist applications the technology is important but like Bradley says, SL is quite immersive enough for me ... and *still* difficult to log out at times.

omg lol. i can imagine my mystitool sending me floating upwards and unable to stop. I'd end up out the window and into the atmosphere lol. I'd need wires to hold me down lol.

There have been a few threads like this. It is a really interesting topic. But my fave suggestion so far is the 3D wall projection lol.

While it's possible to make immersive hardware like suits and goggles, chairs or floors that move about to simulate G forces, just think of the cost of it all. And while people in real world are happy to sit at comps in a family situation, would they be equally happy to be fully wired up while in company?

PS There was a radio programme today about the world's most games-addicted nation, South Korea. Apparently it's not unknown for extreme games addicts there to pee on the chair rather than get up to go to the toilet at a crucuial point in their play!
