Forums getting a new "Conversation Manager"?

Whether he responds at all to my IM, and what he says in response will be telling. Even no answer at all will tell us something. Keep us posted!

I think it's a great gesture. Feel sorry for the guy/gal though. Hope he/she is a manly man.
Definitely needs to be someone out and about communicating. Inworld, too. It should be a full time position, and it would pay off in more ways then there is space here, to list.

I see the job as a lose-lose situation. No matter what Wallace does or doesn't do, somebody isn't going to be happy. If Person A calls Person B a name, Person B can shout "TROLL!! I request Person A be banned from the forum for harrassment!" Well then it's up to poor Wallace, innit, to decide who's a troll (or not) and whether action should be taken (or not). Whatever he does, either Person A or Person B is going to be pissed off, and then, we're off on the ineffectiveness and poor decision making capabilities of Wallace, depending on what he does or doesn't decide/do. It's a sucky sounding job, and I just hope he'll be paid really, really well to compensate.

And did a better job than the stealthmods over at the blogrums or LLs recent attempts to mod these forums themselves. edti: though somebody coming in and asking folks not to have 600-700 pixel high sigs would be nice.

In the SL Scripters email discussion list, you occasionally see emails from Kelly Linden.
As far as I can tell, her contributions are appreciated, because she usually steps in to clarify something that we don't know.
My point is, that sometimes it works.

Isn't this what Torley did long long ago? Didn't he give us all a very nice goodbye message detailing how he wishes the concept would work but there is no way one linden can keep up with us all and LL was moving thier communcation model to the blogs thingy?

From: a much younger Meade How about splitting Linden Answers into two forums: one an open forum where anybody can ask questions and any resident (or Linden, of course) could answer. The other would be closed to all but Lindens and resident forum moderators. If the thread got to the point where the residents couldn't answer it, it'd get moved by a resident mod to the closed forum for LL response.
Sorta like having a staging/triag area forum to filter out the easy (or stupid) stuff before being bumped up to LL forum. edit: originally from
