I think a Michael Jackson shrine is just fine as long as the public doesn't pay for it. It is tacky, but tacky is not illegal. To me the entire thing is ridiculous.

I've never been sure what the rationale is for the saying "Don't speak ill of the dead". Pep (They can't sue you like the living can.) I think it's because when people are alive we think of them as we last new them - in MJ's case - as a nut and possible pedophile. After they die we look at their life as a whole and tend to see them in a much better light. Too bad we couldn't learn to appreciate people that way while they are still with us. To the OP - go for it. I hope that some day people will evolve their perspectives on death and this won't be an option but until then, heck ya, make as much as you can! _____________________

Frankly, IMO, selling tee shirts in SL is nothing.
What had me shaking my head. . . Well. . .Does anyone remember how the press tagged MJ over the past few years, before his come back concert? Now he's the king of pop. This has nothing to do with MJ. Just my own personal observation on our doublethink news media society. _____________________

Also for some it's a religious thing in part - it can be overheard, since the person is not actually dead and *gone.* And "they are not here to defend themselves." That's an oversimplified answer but covers it roughly, I think. (I think of St Jean Vianney and his comparing it to digging someone up and tearing them to pieces.) _____________________

I don't see why some of you feel the man was a nut.Because of his many surgeries? Yes,sure his face was destroyed because of his decision to go under the knife.but how does that make him a nut?
We never met him personally to say yes or no. I saw no indication of mental disturbances. I have no doubt the man had emotional issues as does anyone on this planet. Eccentric maybe. But all in all, we will never know the truth of how he was,other than his friends and family. As far as being a pedophile.That is truly laughable. Proof that the man was innocent,when his daughter broke down in front of the entire world crying he is the best dad in the world. Don't judge lest you be judged in the same manner and velocity. |

I'd guess it's about the same as the reasoning for "Don't kick a man when he's down" or "don't attack those that can't defend themselves"...
