Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Vampires ? you beleive in vampires ? Realy ? how quaint. Sry couldent resist VtM vampire here. Always have my D10 roller on my HUD and my charecter sheet at hand. I find that if your expected to wear a combat hud then the emphisis is going to be on combat not RP, so I don't like using them and tend not to go to those sims that insist on you having them. I've been playing VtM since it came out and much prefere it as a way to RP a vampire. I "bought in" to Bloodlines when it first came out as I had previously used their Fangs/Hud combo, so was interested when they brought out the new one (Bloodlines) but quickly found it to not suit my RP style. I have since made my own Fangs/Hud thing (still a work in progress) and don't use the bloodlines one anymore.

MJ is a vamp? 0.o btw, for the people who mentioned Bloodlines but seem to not be much aware of what is going on, many people playing that game used it as an excuse to mess with newbies and people who aren't very informed about what can and can't be done in SL and doesn't know a few other important info this have made many people dislike vampires in general, and some of the more informed people, to dislike Bloodline players in general. So be aware that by revealing you're a vampire (or likes to pretend to be one or whatever), and even more by telling people you like Bloodlines, you're under the risk of getting attacked due to people assuming you're one of those that force their games/rps into people. Ah, and also, some vampires might also have bad feelings towards you for playing the game that is giving vampires in general a bad name. (I hope I didn't messed up the wording of my text to the point of making people be upset at me instead of making them understand things better which was my intention <.<

I am very interested in the vampire RP world, but have hesitated in my exploration due to all the Bloodlines hate threads. Would anyone seriously into it offer to be my guide?

Not a vampire, and have no problem with them personally, some of my best friends are vampires to. Not sure if they are bloodlines but I have been roleplaying with them for far longer than I knew about SL and trust them to act responsibly. However, outside my circle of friends I have not met many respectable bloodlines vampires, and honestly do not believe one needs a hud to be a vampire. If I chose I could be one and not be in bloodlines, however for the most part my roleplay days are over and Rayne and Tirrika (Former vampire personnas from Guild Wars.) quietly live on in obscurity.

From: Alexis Okawa I am very interested in the vampire RP world, but have hesitated in my exploration due to all the Bloodlines hate threads. Would anyone seriously into it offer to be my guide? It all depends on what kind of roleplay you are after. Are you interested in roleplay/combat mix or pure roleplay?, are you wanting to roleplay for the whole of your SL existence or just at times when you wish to play the game? At the base of roleplay you need nothing more than your imagination. If you decide to take the "living out your roleplay in SL always" option as I do then you need to be respectful of people you come across who may not share your views or want to be involved in it. Everyone has the right to say they are a vampire and live as if one in SL, however once you start to appraoch people with a view of actively involving them in the vampire part of your roleplay you need to be careful as some will not wish to participate. If you decide you want to treat it as a subset of your SL life and if fact game to play when you wish then there are roleplay areas some of which I will list below. Some also have combat as an option but you get to decide how much combat you wish to participate in. Generally though you will be required or strongly encouraged to wear a meter/hud combination that both serves as your character and combat statistics and status. There are some roleplay groups that do not engage in combat at all or if they do it is roleplayed out using chat. Unfortunately they are in the minority and I don't have any details. Some good roleplay/combat places I have either participated in or heard about are: - City of Lost Angels Toxia Midian Eerie Crossroads I cannot recommend NORSIM nor any other groups that use the WARPS combat system which is a content-thief rip off of the City of Lost Angels combat system (CCS). If you type Vampire, Vampyre, Gothic along with roleplay in search you will find a wealth of areas to go along and experience. My advice is to make a character with a back story (even a shallow one) straight away, then hang around and see how things work, how people interact etc. Most people feel excluded a little at first but after you think you know the basics, gently and cautious start to enter the various roleplays. Joining a clan or group is a good way to get started quick. Often there is a notecard given out that explains what the rules and etiquette of these kinds of roleplay/combat. Read them, then Read them again as they will help you get along with it all. Hope this was helpful

From: Gabriele Graves Very nice Elora, you would make a great vamp Thanks Gabriele. You and Jezebelle would be the first people I'd call, if I ever decide I need to fully participate. It's appealing, I'm a huge Anne Rice fan and when I first came to SL it was something I seriously thought about, but never really got around to doing. Now, I'm just too darn busy to immerse myself in it but I do love the romantic/erotic appeal of it all

Now, I'm just too darn busy to immerse myself in it but I do love the romantic/erotic appeal of it all It would be my pleasure to guide you to the dark side should you decide to take that path Actually though, I am not in formal roleplay these days really. I "live" as a vampire and am very busy with many projects and my business interests also and yet I am always a vampire in SL. If that is what appeals to you then live the life I say, there should be no impediments I can think of. I would recommend trying it for a little while, a trial run, see how you like being a vamp for 100% of your SL time for a week or a month. You will soon discover if it appeals to you are whether at the end of it you yearn for your lost humanity. After all this is fantasy and you can even regain your mortality if necessary (a great opportunity to write a paragraph or two about how that happened). Likewise if you decide to go for a trail period, come up with a story or play out the act of being turned with a few friends - it is very much more fun and I can say I speak from experience on that score
