This may not be the proper forum, but it is frequented by the most aware and astute people in SL, so I thought it was worth a shot. I'll also post in the wanted section.
We're opening a gallery to celebrate and bring together all the great work by SL furniture designers in one spot. I know a few, but have not explored every nook and cranny. If you know of someone you think is exceptional, please holler here or send me an IM, landmark or email me at rocky.rutabaga@yahoo.com
Chosen exhibitors will also have the option of selling their work at the museum.
We're looking for innovative work, furniture that can only happen in SL, and also great reproductions of RL designs. It's more about design than scripting.
No cost/rent to the selected exhibitors. No commissions will be taken by the museum staff or curator.
Thanks and come see us when we open!

Just make certain that the Multi Chair by Timeless Prototype is included in this gallery. This would be an exception to the "more about design than scripting" idea, but nonetheless, one of the most innovative pieces of furniture I've seen in SL to date.

The Woodshed has the best furniture I have seen in SL. Ramos and Hoffman Designs are also very nice. For those stylish vampires/goths on a prim budget there is mine

Rocky,
Appearance (design) IS important, but for SL furniture, and for this Kidd at least, the really important features are in the scripting.
I mean, when I sit on a sofa or chair, I don't want to get some crummy message telling me "no place to sit here", or see myself freeze in the uncomfortable default sit, or wind up ten inches above the cushions or six inches below them. It could be the most beautiful design in the whole virtual world, but I'm never going to buy it, knowhutimsayin?
Good luck with the contest, though!

Good luck with the contest, though! Totally agree. The function must function. However, if this was ALL about scripting, I'd have a museum full of SexGen furniture.

Szabo makes well-designed furniture. They are well known for their grandfather clock, but they sell attractive tables, chairs, desks, hope chests, etc.

I have visited countless furniture dealers, but have purchased from only three of them. My favorite is definitely Ballarose. Their furniture is highly detailed.

True North Designs owned by Dellybean North has wonderful casual furniture. Clean, well done lines with multiple sit poses in the chairs, settees and loungers. It is so nice to have more than just one sit pose to choose from, and it is so easy to do.

Personally, I don't like giving credit to anyone in sl who sells stuff as most of these people have giant sized egos to begin with thinking they're actual real life designers and acting the part. You see them tell you in their profiles not to bother them as their time is oh so valuable. Or that if you have a problem with their merchandise, tough luck. Please! Then they get upset when you tell them what you think of them and how they need to act.
But I will say this, Julia Hathor is not only a great maker of furniture but also outdoor stuff like the best looking flexi palm trees in all of sl and I challenge anyone is top these trees, and she actually responds when you call on her for anything unlike a great majority of these other shop owners.
First time I give anyone credit and probably the last so it says alot about Julia Hathor.
