Sims that depict fantasy novel settings?

I'm interested in exploring sims that reproduce scenes from fantasy novels or series (not just based loosely on a setting, like the Elven sims). A few that I've come up with:

Tolkien: The Shire
Harry Potter: Liquid Heat, Witchcraft
Dune: Splintered Rock
Pern: Gianfar
Oz: Magic of Oz
Barsoom: a small piece of Privateer Space (still there, as of right now)

Any others you can suggest? I'm sure there are some obscure ones out there!

[yes, I'm deliberately omitting Gor]

It does indeed have Dragons and Weyrs - and a threadfall combat system that's still a bit under development, but we have a working test system up. We're in the middle of reorganization right now due to the OS Sims change - switching from two full and four OS sims to three full and one OS sim. Gianfar is the entry sim. It's "off-canon" RP, meaning we have female bronzes & such, with a complete backstory. We do NOT play the characters in the books, to comply with Anne's wishes regarding fan groups. Signup and complete details are available at http://www.gianfarpeaks.com. Hope to see you there!

The city of Tar Valon from Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time series is currently located in the Tar Valon sim. It too is getting ready to move because of the OS situation, but for right now that's where it is.

Okay, this is just too cool. I have to check this out. :)

To the OP; try Avilion for general fantasy stuff; dragons, elves, etc.

There's an Ankh-Morpork sim, depicting part of Terry Pratchett's fantasy city, and I understand RP is starting up there.

The town of Innsmouth from the Lovecraft novels on the October Country sim. Nice and creepy :) I believe they do some role-playing there too.

There was one based on the Sleeping Beauty books (not the children's books). Is it still around?

The sim is called "Ankh Morpork". Or maybe you could try typing "Ankh Morpork" in search?

Thanks for your suggestions! No, I wasn't planning to offer tours, but that's not a bad idea.

Your posts have jogged my memory of a few others.

There is (or was?) another HP Lovecraft sim - I'll look it up this evening. It has a really creepy animation of being taken by Chthulu. [EDIT - it's gone, sorry]

There's a Ringworld build (not a full sim) in one of the science sims. Of course, that's science fiction not fantasy, but since I'm the OP I don't have to be consistent :-) [Edit - It's still there - at Spindrift. Also a model of a asteroid habitat. ]

I'd love to see a sim based on the Mythago series by Robert Holdstock.

That's something that may actually get me to log into SL again (been taking a break), the Phaze series was a nice one.

I've always thought a Xanth sim(s) would be very fun to RP in.

If you're allowing SF, there's a couple of Dune based sims.

There are at least two. The one mentioned later in this thread (which actually sounds like a third I hadn't heard of, instead of the second one), plus Bonds of Beauty (it was there last time I checked, though the name might be off).

And you can buy dragons, but you can't ride a gold in Gianfar unless approved. I have a gold for my home ;)

I have the LM I will be back in world Friday if no one has passed it to you- but the Builders are still working on it - it is not ready as yet. I will try and point one of them to this thread.

Let's buy a sim or 4 and build Gormenghast!

Tower of flints -- gads, the castle stuff in SL! -- check
Abyss skin for Titus -- check
Crow shoulder pets for Gertrude -- check
Flying owls --- check
Burning wooden sculptures -- easy to make--- check
Steerpike AV - easy --- check
silly anims for Irma Prunesquallor at LAP -- check
The "Thing" -- hmm, need a waiflike nude flying girl, IMPOSSIBLE! -- check

I think you could pick up half the stuff you need in a longish visit to Falln.
