That hurt to read..I can't imagine her not knowing that her IP address was used as part of her login to the site.((usually you have to type it in))
I've often wondered ((runnning around as my alt)) if there was a way to track a suspected alts IP address to check to see if it matched the suspected mains..anyone know?

Type in your IP number? I never heard of a message board where you would have to do that. I think you are thinking of your login name. If you are a moderator/admin on a message board you can look at the who's online and you will see a number right next to people's names. This number represents the location of the server they are "dialing" in from on the internet. Cable and some DLS users have a static IP,which never changes. AOL users and other dial ups often change,so those are hard to pinpoint. But Cable rarely does.(she was using Comcast)
ETA: Eash user on a cable network has their very own unique IP number identiying their modem.
