Freebie groups..

Yes, yet another thread. I'm a talker, it aint my fault! =x

And, no, I don't want in FabFree, Freestyle, PURE, etc. I've been waiting like two weeks to be able to post notices. I've lost patience with them. I looked under Shopping like suggested before but only find stuff on shop freebies, not freebie groups.

Anyone got a REAL freebie group, or wanna make one with me? That actually lets us post?

Allow me to clarify, my dear dear group owners. Your group above doesn't mean you're not real. It means I've tried you. Still can't post in you. So I want a group I can actually post in. Put the names up so I won't get invited into you, since I'm already there Still don't like your name up there? Just ask and I'll remove ya. I don't think group names are against the rules, if they are just tell me.

Honestly i think you dont give the owners of these groups enough credit. Althoug I am not familiar with PURE, I have met both the owners of FabFree and FreeStyle. Both are extremely busy and d add people when they get the chance. You may need to send a notecard or IM more thn once in order to get added but they do get ack to you when they can.

Oh and you do realise with FabFree you are allowed to send info about your frebies in group chat

Those two really are at the moment the best and more active two freebe groups on the grid and have some of the top name creators who send out notices to them.

Then they need to allow others to add people.

Especially with busy lives. Have enough faith in your people to allow some of them to adjust ranks.

Actually, there are others that can add Designers besides Cookie. It used to say somewhere on the webpage, but since the redesign, I cannot find it. I'll drop you my notecard with the info when I log in this evening. It didn't take me long to get added.

i am leaving all those freebie groups because they frickin spam with notecards and notices 10 times a day. sheesh. why can't you people just make ONE notecard and add all the info to the ONE card.... why does each merit an individual notice?

Me too....errr, except I didn't realize I needed a tag for notices and had just been doing all my offers in group chat...which works well actually - just doesn't allow for attachments.

Well, dang...on the Fabfree website it says to send her an IM.

can't remember, I do know if they have instructions I follow them
so chances are I im'd and no notecard (I know I sent a notecard to the one for free style which I got my tag for)

I own the Pure group, and you can join without waiting for a tag...to my knowledge you havent joined, let alone dropped me a note or IM to REQUEST a notice about anything. I dont let people send out notice or group Im's , i merely ask that they let me know what it is they want posting and send out a notice myself FOR them.

Two reasons for this...

1) the format of the notices is the same for everyone, im told that im pretty good at making the notices informative and interesting, they work, and the group members know that i have already been and seen what is in the notice, and yes i DO check whats being offered before it goes out (BBIAB never gets into Pure for example).

Directions to whatever it is makes it easier for everyone when you for example tp into a huge mall. I take photos to send out for places I think will benefit, and collect free items to check them out, try them on...Pure members can trust that what goes out...really is worth their while reading about or going too. I dont like my time wasted..i doubt many others do either!

2) I loathe group spam ...i tend to leave groups where there are constant notices about nothing much at all, or the latest money scams, or "EARN CASH NOW " or "ILL SEND LIMO TO GET YOU TO THIS CLUB THAT CLUB WHATEVER CLUB".

Lots of Pure members drop me notecards about items theyve seen...great deals...interesting places to go see...jobs...etc..we are just big enough now that I can go and approach business owners about offers for the group. Pure is not just run for me by me, its the members that make it worthwhile and share informtaion about free gifts , amazing deals, sales, events, treasure hunts etc with everyone else.

If youd like to actually know about us..feel free to ask me ...or JOIN before you say its not a good group to be in and see for yourself...I would appreciate you NOT posting here about how we are NOT a REAL freebie group if youve not even bothered looking into what my group does..if you join and think its loathesome/boring/tedious...fine post and say so...but you havent...i find that sort of behaviour a tad irritating to be honest.

Yeesh. Chill. I don't like waiting for someone else to post my stuff. I like to do RANDOM giveaways, not tell someone that I wanna give away stuff on X-date, at Y-time. I want to do it when I feel like it. Like tonight, I wanted to. So I looked at the freebie groups.. None still allowed me to give anything away.

It's my items, why can't I give anything away? Those groups, TO ME, are not real. You're not me, no?

ive just spoken to you inworld...and offered you the free service of Pure, as youd just joined it.

Whilst I can appreciate you may have been busy (although you said you "just couldnt be bothered right now" IF youd had said "ill contact you later im busy" its much more polite than getting so irritated, asking me to mute & eject you etc...

After speaking to you, it would seem you might be better off forming your own group to send out you "random" gifts...if as you say, you cant wait a few hours for a formed group with membership in place to do it for you.

No thanks hun I'm not a newbie, and I don't need to be told about SL. I do appreciate your offer. As for our conversation, I didn't feel like re-hashing what was already here. If you'd like to talk about something else, feel more than welcomed to message again. I'm a very friendly person and love to make new friends. Life is short and my health does not tolerate me getting the least bit upset.

I did not mean to be 'rude' or such, I just simply did not see the reasoning discussing that of which will not be changed. I've also been in PURE for awhile now, did not 'just join' Tried very kindly to ask you to not discuss, but you didn't. So I had to get a tad bit harsh. Let's hope this does not repeat! My mute list is empty right now, and I love it that way.

If you view free offered help as "being told", thats a bit sad really. unless youre an alt account, yes youre pretty new in relative terms , which is why i kindly offerd you help if needed. I find marking myself in afk or busymode useful if i want to read messages later and not be disturbed, or even just letting them sit there until im not busy etc. You really just wnated to have the last word...which actually made me smile and not in the least bit irritated..

I found you rather offensive to be honest..and i know you just joined Pure this evening, as I checked the group list for an impending gift an hour or so ago.

You didnt say your were busy when i messaged you inworld...you said "you couldnt be bothered to ask for a notice"...so i let you know to feelfree to ask for one etc.. if my group isnt for you, please leave if you wish...it makes no difference to me whatsoever.

Seriously, Fai, I joined WEEKS ago. Remember the thread I had looking for freebie groups? I joined that night. I've no reason to lie to you or anyone, especially about something like joining a group. I don't know what system you use to check for new users, but you may wish to reset it. I know very well when I joined, and it wasn't today.

It does not matter as you do not allow members to post notices.

So, let us get back to the actual thread and see if I can find a group that allows its users to post notices.

I do not know of any groups that allow their members to post as often as they feel like it

so keep in mind, when you do find a group they will prolly restrict you to 1 notice/msg per week

Lol, Rha - I'd take once a week! Know of one? =x I don't like the way SL Searches for groups.. It seems so messy and unorganized. I've tried looking that way, but haven't been able to find a group with any sort of information.

you may also want to join lucky kitty crew, there is frequent notices of neat freebies, lucky chairs, group gifts and hunts and suchlike, send Serenity Semple an im if interested

So basically your complaint is that you cannot post in groups? But isn't that a good thing? How many of us have left groups because of constant Spam or people Iming conversations etc etc. I know I have left quite a number of groups like that.

I will admit that Faithless is my Boss (she's pretty good and only beats me once a week) but I have nothing to do with PURE I'm just in the group (as well as Rossini Agency) but I do know that she like a lot of group owners spend a lot of their free time checking out the Tips given to them from other members so they can make sure they are valid ones and quality items. She also make sure that when she sends the Notice out she tells everyone who sent it in and thanks them. I think that because group members don't get constant Notices off every Tom, Dick and Harriet they pay more attention to them and are more happy to go check it out because the come to trust her reccomendations.

If you were to set up your own group then I wonder if after a while when you see the first flush of members dropping out or complaining because of the amount of notices or irrelevant group chats you will restrict the notices.

BUT having said all that I'm not against the idea of people being allowed to do that it's just that I don't think it will work.

Hey I know this off topic but it's related Fai or anyone who can answer how do those freebie groups work?
Friend told me about one group she knows the owner I think its one of them listed it has over 3774 members. where content creators can advertise once a week but item must be 1 L or 0.
My concern is if any of the gift givers can post what happens if there is a whole lot of gift givers posting do the messages get lost?
I thought about it as way to get more people to share things I make but only concern I have
had is not sure how it works.
Do all items have to be full permissions to be freebies?
Do items go through group or can people come to one's shop?
Can creator use a alt to join those groups especially if they are busy groups with lots of announcements?
It is easier to track 1 L items because I noticed the 0 items there never really notification if people buy the product.

Basically freebie is 0L or 1L
and recently more and more places are using dollarby as freebie.

One thing i always find funny.. and wondered why ppl do it..
most of my freebies and dollarbies either have no perms or are copy only..
but ppl hit the store and buy like 20

i used to make some promotional items trans and then found ppl selling them at about 200% markup...
So now if i make a transferrable promo .. i make sure to make it no mod and include in the discription line that its a promotional 10L$ special

the dollarbies and freebies too.. goes right there in the discription line

I heard somewhere or read somewhere that there was an exploit if you bought enough of one thing quickly enough, you might get a full perm version through some glitch..

personally i think its an urban myth... but maybe thats why ppl hit the no trans free stuff so hard... I mean what else can you do with 20 red bathtubs lol
