A friend of mine has a free meeting/personals system set up in the lounge section of her store and photostudio. It's with those advertising vendors someone can rent and then drop a notecard and texture in. When she first put it up she asked me and some other friends to put profiles on it for the first week so it didn't look empty. I had a lot of people take mine and a few contact me so I'd say it worked pretty well. I took my profile down after a couple days when other people started getting spaces. She says the biggest problem she has with it is people who don't know how to create a notecard/texture or can't grasp the holding Shift+Ctrl while dragging items in. I know she has an instructional notecard available but people don't bother. Anyway, it was going well for her...and it was free for users, mainly to draw people to her place. I've seen all 25 or so spaces full but recently it's been dwindling down.

My answer to Rhaorth's question would be yes, people use them and it's a good tool to increase traffic.

Thats one thing I've listened to her complain about is how many escorts put up ads on her boards and she has to take them down. It's stated pretty clearly that it's not for escort services or business advertisements, but people still do it.

my little rental area is not working out so well, got 2 renters, no one else renting... maybe I could redo that space and either refund them or let them stay as theonly renters or incorporate the ad system into the rental area
