Is Xstreet out of control?

Just logged in to Xstreet on the popular link and was greeted by listings at L$ 10 and 25 that were all featured listings.
It was stated on one that since they were not inworld anymore they were virtually giving this quality stuff away.There are pages of similar stuff all aimed at either making fast buck rip offs or getting even with some alleged grievance.
This can do no good for our economy or sales ,this whole approach is divisive in the extreme and will lead to a bad outcome in my opinion.
Why is Xstreet not policed in an ongoing professional way ,why do they allow this stuff? Why wait until someone ARs or complains before they slowly take action.
There should be a team of scrutineers that make quick and positive decisions where fraud or TOS violations are involved. Is it because LL wants everybody to sell on Xstreet so they can get their cut, are they sitting on their hands ?
I for one am not happy with this new trend at all .

I see it no different than all the freebies we have in the world now, neither are good for the economy or sales (and freebies are even more plentiful)

I am not talking about regular freebies and I agree with you there no problem.
This is different, this is a sort of rant against someone ,it seems to me.
L$ 9.800 worth of gear for L$ 10 ,they are milking the whole of the market in their area and also setting a president,That could collapse the economy if followed by other nutters. This is in no way philanthropic this is a "Top of the world Ma" moment.
Trouble is we are too close to the epicentre.

I see it happen all the time, with many different products

case in point, the 25L sculptie shoes, they are nicely done, and comparative to the more expensive pair

yet, people will still buy the costly ones, because of branding

much like how... thrift shops in RL sell stuff cheap, but some folks still buy from the name brands stores (and middle of the road ones)

I don't see it as an upcoming economy crash

(can't help but wonder... do you make guitars, animations and such?)

I know someone who does, and has for years, and even if the quality of these match his, I still suspect he will get sales

(for various reasons)

For me, I am more concerned with them not seemingly taking down signs of obvious copyright and trademark infringement.

I dont buy anything. I get everything I need for free. Good on those people for selling stuff very cheap. Second life has just become a hideous extension of the ugly consumerism that is capitalist society today anyway.IE- a greedy few make most of the money and the rest of us get crumbs if we are lucky.
Hopefully the entire market will get flooded with freebies and cheap stuff and the greedy few that make most of the money will fall.

No I don,t sell guitars or animations,but I pity the poor sods that do, for a month or so at least.this op is selling so fast that he wont give refunds or even offer inworld help.
Says that 10 items every 5mins are sold so just buy another .I still believe this is an unusual case. Hope it is not a trend ,someone has pissed this op off bigtime.

You need to check out this particular item to understand .not hard to do.This is not normal selling.or giving away I sense an ulterior motive that I can,t quite grasp yet ,but I will.

Price cops? Someone can't sell something at 10-25L ??? Perhaps Obama should take over XStreet too? I just don't get what you're driving at.

Good for you. If only everybody would think like that. Then there wouldn't be a SL or any other virtual world anymore. Wouldn't that be great?

my take is someone decided to give up SL and to get some back they set stuff super low, and well, for them it works

i just looked on there and i don't really see a bunch of undercutting..
things i see for 10L are like bunny ears and leg warmers and eye lashes accessories..
3 pages in and it was not really overtaking the other priced items on the popular pages i saw..

The world is consuming itself to death. Somehow I really dont think Ill care if virtual worlds that are just duplications of the real world do the same thing.

You need to be more specific - how many items? Are they all from the same merchant or same small numbers of merchants?

I see nothing unusual on the Xstreet listings - there are a small number of items priced at 50 L$ and below - most listings are for higher priced items as you would expect, given the cost of advertising in the Xstreet listings.
