I've decided to become a bitch inworld. I have had a variety of clothing designers contact me about selling "their" clothes in my inventory. Clothing that THEY made transferable and the I now own -- meaning it might be THEIR creation, but it is now MY dress.
One or two were very nice and said that the item was apparently accidentally marked as transferable because they usually never sell clothes that way. In those few cases, I took the item down and gave it away. However, a few simply sent me nasty IMs that I had better remove their stuff and they have ARd me and then they ejected me from their groups. The group ejections are just as well, given I would have left after those IMs anyway. For the ones that are nasty about it, I will not take anything down, even it it was an accident that it is transferable. _____________________

Fuck them. There's a gazillion designers in-world. They have the nerve to make a fuss over re-selling of one dress that they set to transfer? Not your fault, you should be able to do what you damn well please with it. I'd get even with a blog post naming the designers who whined. QFT. I make clothing and don't expect my Xfer stuff to never be sold or given away. That's just silly. Even in RL there are 2nd hand clothing stores and some are fairly pricey. I'd get even with a blog post naming the designers who whined. Oh and if you make a mistake on perms, TFB. Exactly. Even Ghosty, with his artwork, assumes others might resell it because they are transfer, for gifts. He has no problem if someone else resells his work afterwards. What he gets pissed off about is people copying work - not reselling. _____________________

Thank you all for letting me be part of your peer group. (like you had any choice... heheheh). I have learned so much here. Many many technical things to make SL easier, but a ton of other things. I have learned that in my own way I can make a difference in SL. I have learned the power of information and sharing it. I have learned about prejudices... my own and others. I have learned to look at myself differently. I have learned that I to can talk to a Linden. I have learned that just because someone has done something incredibly talented it doesn't mean they are unapproachable. They just might be your next good friend. I have learned just because someone is new, or hard to understand doesn't mean you should avoid approaching them. They just might be your next good friend. My biggest regret on the forums: that I left it when they archived many of the catagories (so much time wasted until I came back) My biggest success on the forums: that I pretty much stayed true to myself. I stayed positive and open to the experience. So, wherever I should meet you by land or by sea, I shall always remember your kindness to me. Don't hesitate to say hello. |
