I see the discussion related to Pep has continued in my absence. Glad to see there was at least some variety off that topic in the midst of it, though. ;)

Oooooo! Reminds me of the Burlesque shows of days gone by.

Does anyone still do burlesque anymore???

There is an orgainization in world that puts on burlesque like shows. Moulin Rouge. I popped in an out of one they did for James Bond.

Arrrgh I'm having a horrible SL week it seems and I'm about to whine so bear with me or keep on scrolling lol.

Some of you might know that I've been REALLY REALLY wanting a Burning Life parcel this year. The first day of the land grab I was able to grab a parcel but due to my own negligence and that of LL by mistakenly enabling the wrong sims , I claimed a parcel on a sim, along with a whole bunch of people, that wasn't really open for the land grab so it was reclaimed. Sucks but my fault for not paying attention to the sim I was on. A friend was kind enough to allow me to share her parcel but I continued trying to get my own even though I was having massive problems with my computer and staying logged in. We also had different visions of what we wanted so I didn't really want to cramp her style so I knew I wouldn't have much a presence on BL. Well after trying at every land grab, I finally claimed my very own parcel on the Burning Life Opal sim late Saturday. I built all day on Sunday and invited a few friends to come see my creations and met some really interesting strangers.

Well I woke up really early this morning to find an offline email saying that I was ejected from the Burning Life Access group from a resident moderator. I have no clue why and never got a response from my IM asking for clarification. I'm not a rule breaking kinda guy and I didn't double dip on parcels so I'm frustrated and confused. I asked a friend to ensure my hard work on my parcel was still intact and it is, with my name remaining on the claimed parcel pole. I've sent a message to Dusty Linden and I'm hoping it was just done in error so keep your fingers crossed for me. To top it all off, the sims where I've been living on for almost two years that some of you saw in the home tour is likely going to be closed down in the next few weeks. Arrrrgh, when it rains it pours. I know there are way bigger problems on this big blue planet we share in both rl and sl but damn this is all so frustrating!! :(
</whine>

:( i hope the BL situation irons itself out. i'd really like to go see yours and Mari's parcels/ please post slurls.o
sorry about your private parcel. that is a major bummer!!

Thanks 3. Fortunately it was an admin error and it got all sorted out with the help of Dusty Linden. I just hope this will be the last of my BL problems. Mari's camp is great and will be well worth seeing and I think that Ghosty has a camp as well which I haven't had a chance to go check out yet. With all my whining about BL I just hope that I come up with something fairly decent to show. I'll likely try to start a thread or gather up a list of slurls for forum people with BL parcels closer to the time of the opening in Oct, since the sims are closed off to the general public now anyways.

Ok, this is the second time I've seen Tod make a comment about "hippies" and it spurred an idea.

Can we please forget all this "is Pep a jerk or not" nonsense. I mean if we are going to fight I think hippies versus rednecks would be a lot more fun for anyone willing to partake and more enjoyable for the innocent bystanders as well. If you factor in the nostalgic value I think it could be a win-win situation.

Anyone interested?

PS: It is my birthday and I may have had a beer or two too many. So, if this is not the brilliant idea I'm thinking it is I'll respectfully ask that you "just ignore and let this one die".

:D

Happy B-Day!!

And FWIW.... I side with Rednecks!!! ;)

Sorry Hippies. I've seen what good ol' boys can do with some axe handles & a few beers. Peace Love & Groovy-ness loses.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-HAH!!!!!!

BTW- it was on the news....

Hippie protesters & the ACLU whining that the Pittsburgh Police were harassing them.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Ok. There's my pity for them :p

First of all, it appears that these protesters must be protesting the use of SOAP & WATER!!! DAMN PEOPLE!! BATHE!!!!! BRUSH YOUR TEETH!!! Since when did "peace" mean looking like you're homeless?? If you're 40+ and have dredlocks?? Just frickin' sad. Cut your hair, wash your hair. Get a life & a REAL job.

2nd: "Seeds of Peace"?? When I see these folks the first thing I think is "I bet he/she has pot on them somewhere" 2nd thing I think: I bet they smell like B.O. & Patchouli.

3rd: State Law- Buses carrying passengers require a special permit. Shut up & get over it.

It is very good for you.. would get rid of doctors overnight, but chocolate chickens are very rare and hard to find... and I hate giving up chocolate... :)

Chocolate Chicken.

1 c. catsup 1 c. chopped onions 1/2 tsp. minced garlic 1 tbsp. Ghirardelli's ground chocolate 1 tbsp. liquid smoke 1 tbsp. lemon juice 1 tbsp. honey 1/2 tsp. ginger

In small bowl, mix marinade, microwave 45 seconds or until chocolate melts. Marinate chicken in sauce 1 hour or more. Bake 1 hour uncovered at 375 degrees.

Pep (You can make Chocolate Chicken Soup with the bones.)

Pep - this is the part of your post that is totally uncalled for and way over the top. You could easily have said everything else without tossing this barb in. I like a lot about you, but it is these direct insults that piss everyone off. They are just down right rude, mean and nasty.
It's not an insult, merely an accurate observation. :p

Overnight Catchup

@Koko: How could I be critical of your images when I don't understand them. ;)
@Lil: Photobucket seems to want you to stop posting old photos . . . and you may be in charge of the Cartel but you are not even *in* the (Non-Existent) Clique.
@Rha: Wouldn't it make sense for those people, who are so sensitive that they suffer hurt feelings on forums, not to participate in forums? :p
@Har: I think it is that many views not viewers.
@Lexxi: Isn't it a little insensitive to suggest further potentially antagonistic scenarios in the current climate?

Pep (Will that do?)

Glad it is all sorted out! My camp is mostly done (at least according tot he prim count it is!), though I have a few extra details I want to add in. Heck, I'd got to sleep there for a week or two, I gotta make it somewhat livable!

Ghosty does have a plot!

I'm also excited to see a lot of kid avvies got plots. At least six, including myself. Not all their builds are kid builds, but some are. Each will bring some cool energy to the playa. :-)

I come to you all from a special place of love... and kindness... and understanding...

We all come from different places but what we all share is the ability to love.Know that.... it is a truth.

We may not all agree at all times but I think we can come together for the good of all of us.

Each of us can make the effort to accept and understand one another,

Take a step back, take a deep breath, love.

That is all it takes. I have a policy that when another driver on the road cuts me off, no matter how angry I get, I think... "What are they going through? Where are they going? What happened to them today?"

I do respect you all. I do think the world of this thread and I hope that Amara and Damien join us again.

Until then, love begets love and I know, I love you all.

Forgiveness is a gift I give myself.

With much love, Lula

Perfect. The Sept/Oct issue of NUJ just hit my desk with a front page blurb of, "Life Goes On"

Okey dokey then.

To continue my not-emo (it is steam steam steam) Gloomy (windlight settings for the hopelessly color challenged) theme of a photo study of my home (as a gift to my sim mate who is always totally under-appreciated for his design talents), here is piccy 1:

Very Gloomy Irish atmosphere to this one, similar to plunking Clonmacnoise on the east coast:. Plus, you are in for a real treat because I never wear heels:

And another. I was doing nothing unladylike, that is a steam powered airship, thank you:

@Eli. Thank you for your nice comment. It is almost a greenhouse. We call it the Butterfly House, but it does house exotics.

@ 3ring: Yep, you 'got' it. It was a sort of gardener's salute to the sun in a post industrial era. It was just the polluted sky that was gloomy.

@ Pep: Noooo, I did not change my shape just to make my butt look big. It is always the clothes that tend to make me tubby or a scrawny chicken. I have a static shape :p

and least of the set, I was sneaking in right before curfew. I'm a damned fine pilot and don't think I was spotted.

Well, if they are ever going to remake Bladerunner in SteamPunk style you should be applying for the role of set designer. ;)

Pep I won't quote you because I respect that some have you on ignore and due to the stupid way the forums work, quoting someone makes ignore useless. For the record no one asked me to not quote you, if they did then being the bitch I can be, I would probably then end up quoting you, as I dislike being told what to do LOL.
I know I hate it when someone quotes someone I have on ignore, I just do not make it publicly known, so people do not know when they are doing it, on the other hand, I know people have you on ignore and that I would be doing it if I quoted you, so I won't.

Ok hopefully that made sense, it is almost 3am and trying to get tired enough to sleep :(
Now that I have you thoroughly confused and itching to correct every possible mistake I just made there...
I just wanted to say, in response to your reply to me, yes... it would make sense

however as I am sure you are aware, people do not always do what one would expect them to do.
Especially me...

go figure

edited to add... to pep...

even though it was a reply to Har...
the views are unique views... test it out... view the thread, hit refresh and view again, doesn't up the count....

egad imagine how many it would be if it counted every view each of us has done, while refreshing and replying... lordy

I know. That is why I said "wouldn't it make sense" rather than "wouldn't it be sensible". :p

I know that too. I was explaining that we had not had 800,000 different individuals viewing this thread.
