My dinner with Oryx got messed up last night. I had called her twice and never heard from her. Last message was I was at the train, it was due to arrive in about 10 minutes and I wasn't sure if I should get on it or not.

While waiting Ilooked at my cell phone and noticed I still had one of her emails on it which said she would call me that morning to reconfirm.

Yikes.

I suddenly took that to mean perhaps we weren't on since I hadn't heard from her. I still got on the train, and went 1/2 way thru NJ, just in case I heard from her. Nothing. So, I transferred back to my home.

As I was getting off at my station, she called to apologize for not calling that morning. Talk about crossed signals. We're going to try tomorrow for lunch, however now they are calling for pretty bad snow here starting in the morning so I don't know what's going to happen

Very bummed.

Hey, some day I could be there. I have family and friends in the area. I keep saying I owe them a visit. I lived in Fort Lauderdale for a few years, eons ago. Ghosty lived down there too for a while. Sadly we both hate it there (ok hate being a strong word but we're not exactly enamored with Florida), so getting us down there for a vacation would be a hard sell. But, promised if it ever happens, I would absolutely let you know I'm on my way

I'm more worried that my house back home is underwater, LOL. You know what's funny? It was rainy here on wednesday, and I was out and about in it, and like 3 people commented on the rain and how brutal it was and I was like, "This is rain? They haven't been to Washington lately..."

But yeah I saw about the snow... hopefully it will be light!

I haven't ridden a RL horse since I'm in my 20's. Used to enjoy it when I could afford to waste a bit of money and wanted to escape from my college classes (which was a lot )

I have one of the AKK horses. Very well made and I've always enjoyed going out with it. I think we may make that trip tonight. Me on my horse, Ghosty as a llama lol.

I understand- the only time it is livable is the winter- yeah- it's shivering weather.. mid 70's right now I am wearing a chiffon tank like top- so yeah real cold.

This was me in the summer:

Wake up in air conditioned house. Walk into air conditioned car. Walk into air conditoned office. Get into air conditoned car to air conditioned restaurant for lunch. Back to air conditioned office for rest of day. Into air conditioned car to air conditioned home for evening.

Weekends I hibernated in air conditioned house as much as possible.

Repeat for months on end.

I wasn't even a beach lover. Hence moving back to to the northeast.

Yup- that's my life too- i havent been to the beach in the last 6 or 8 years- too much sand and i hate the sun.

What is wrong with you people? I spent all my time on the beach when I was there - it was the only redeeming feature Florida had. And two years in the Caribbean had me looking like a native ... I'm amazed I haven't contracted skin cancer. O.o

I direct you to an earlier picture where I'm a black panther riding a horse. If your llama can attach itself to the horse without something being removed that you need as a llama to look like a llama, and as long as ao can be turned off, then yes they can carry llamas.

There is a picture out there somewhere of a horse riding a horse, and I do not mean that sexually.

My llama could ride the horse, but then I'd look more like big bird than a llama. :/ Perhaps I'll don my anthropomorphic green-suited llama for the horse ride.

I am so pale you can see my veins under my skin- but it is not a "deathly pallor" though my husband kids me about being a vampire...Talk to me again in about 10 or 20 years - if it weren't for the grey hair you woudn't know i was 45 and a nice bottle of hair color takes care of that .

Same here, I'm nearly 50 and not a wrinkle to be seen. No gray hair under the highlighted blonde yet either, surprisingly to which Ghosty can attest (although there is a private joke between us about me having gray hair, but that's a whole other matter).

Pale is the new tan lol. We'll be the envy of the geriatric set one day

Funny how we never seem happy with our climate. I hate being cold, and I hate snow. I'd happily live in a desert (with a internet, of course) and count my blessings. Living on the coast? *swoons*

When i was about - hmm -10 or 12 or so- my mom use to clean the house of this lady who spent the entire day laying by her pool or at the beach- I think at the time she may have been in her mid 40's. Her skin was the color of an almond pit almost and as rough looking as a peach one Some how i knew then i wd not be courting the sun.
