Seconded. I've already seen the bug with my own skins. IT'S NOT A PRETTY PICTURE!!!! (>_<;)

If you have purchased a no-mod skin. You WILL look like a bloody bozo and won't be able to do anything about it. (>_<;)

Skin makers: Make sure you have good records. Your content is about to be broken and your customers are gonna be frigg'n mad. (>_<;)

I need someone on one of the new viewers to look at me and tell me if I am all messed up :( - I use a Kirsten one so it won't change what I see but I don't want to look like a clown to other people!

Voted! Linden post concerning it:

BigPapi Linden added a comment - 28/Apr/09 04:47 PM
Thanks for the feedback! Like Nyx said, the reason we have public nightly viewer releases and Release Candidates is so that we can be aware of issues that unintentionally end up negatively affecting a lot of residents. This change was made as a result of bug reports in PJIRA regarding inconsistent ordering of texture layers between the lower body, upper body, and face which resulted in broken content. In attempting to fix this broken content it appears we've broken different content (that relied on the previously existing bug). We were in fact trying to fix something that was already broken, not just arbitrarily making layering changes.

We're aware of the issue and are in the process of fixing it. In the meanwhile, thanks again for continuing to use the public nightly and RC viewers and reporting issues you find, so we that can be made aware of them before they make it into an official viewer release. We don't want to break your content, so please continue to report any issues you find in pre-release viewers so we can promptly fix them.

this is happening on the 1.23 public nightly one

this only happens to those using that version, when they rebake

(see Immy's post further down)

The problem only takes shape during baking. And, since baking is local to your computer; if you don't see it, nobody does. So there's really nothing to be afraid of if your eyebrows look fine on your own screen. (^_^)y

Ugh, that looks AWFUL. Hope they fix that one before I have to upgrade, or I will be ditching my human avie for sure.

OK, I'll bite and ask the stupid question of the day... what is "the public nightly"?

I'm rather honestly curious...

It's got a ton of votes, and is assigned to Workingonit, is labeled as a Show Stopper, and is open.

Would more votes help this issue, in any way?

May I suggest becoming a dog?

Looks like the master plan for world canine domination is being endorsed and implemented by LL. First, we come for the humans, and make them look like clowns. Next... well, you'll have to wait and see.

Dadgum, and I got upset about them "fixing" the avatar mesh hiding megaprim thing before the 1.23 release with avatar alpha. (I still say it should be simultaneous at worst...)

I don't know either but it sounds like it ought to be labelled "mature" to me!

Question - I'm not in world at the moment ... BUT ... it would stand to reason that if you put on an the original "Ruth" type skin and worked the slider magic to get rid of the makeup, then put on the no-mod skin - the makeup would be gone ... right?

I was going to vote - until I saw the Linden comments.

Really strange effects. Photo#4 must have felt particularly WTFed.

no. the makeup would revert to whatever the skinmaker had it set to.

As has been said several times here, as well as in the description:
We know of this issue. We are working on it. We will not leave content broken.
This issue had a much larger impact than we ever intended. We would not suddenly break every no-mod skin on purpose. We're working on fixing it and it will be fixed before the final release of 1.23. Closing as fix pending, as we will be releasing a fix. It won't be in RC0, but it will be released soon.
