What is member gut feel over sex bed businesses against the 'Adult' backdrop?
Such stores without naked imigary are basically furniture stores...do the scripts make them adult? or do two dressed av's trying them out make it adult or do naked av's seal the deal?
Is any business selling sexual poseballs heading to 'Adult'?
Would anyone else invest and increase their mature land holding to expand now or see it as a given such stores will be banished to porn island so hold off? thanks

I wouldn't buy any land right now with the thought of doing anything remotely adult with it.

mature vs juvenile

Conservatively measuring the percent of households in sl that have "mature" poses in beds, spas, showers, etc. I estimate at least 90%. I think it would be a lot easier to move the pg portion of sl onto their own "reservation".

As read it anything for sale that has anything at all to do with sex will be out of the mainstream.Alright behind closed doors so to speak but a no no on regular mainland. So in my op don't even think about it.

Supposedly, if the land is a residence, you can have your dungeon and be left alone in peace. But don't piss anyone off, or you could find yourself on the wrong side of an AR.

closed doors? you're kidding right.

Ummmm, there is NO privacy in sl except on private estate islands. So, residents engaging in "adult" activities in their own homes and skyboxes will certainly be potentially abuse reported by prying camera peepers.

My understanding is that the change is months away and, when it happens, the land of anyone who has to move will be freely swapped for land in the new continent, so there won't be a financial loss in terms of tier or cost of the land. If I were happy to have a store on the new continent, I would go ahead with it today on the current mainland. The worst that can happen when the change comes is that all the LMs won't work for the new continent, and any Picks in people's profiles will be useless. For a new store, that probably won't be too bad, whereas, for an old, well-established store, it could be very bad.

I would absolutely NOT invest in land anywhere in SL to start an Adult Business, until this latest change is finalized. Even land on a Private Island Sim may be subject to changes in allowed use, if, for example, your proposed new business is the only "Adult" thing in an otherwise Mature or PG sim.
Any BUSINESS selling sex-related stuff will, at this rate, have to be flagged as "Adult and have to be relocated to the new "Adult Continent" or to private island sims willing to flag their entire estate as "Adult".
Individual / personal / non-commercial use is still in question. They say it will remain OK in mature land, if behind closed doors, but not if out in the open.

It's things like having an open-air sex slave market next to someone's house that they are trying to eliminate.

I wonder how many people are buying up worthless mainland now just to swap it for hot, flippable locations in Pornotopia.

Im thinking if all commercial sex menu scripted furniture has to go to the new continent it would need to be HUGE.
I wonder if the original back room tea boy think tank on this topic was considering Adult to be the open orgy clubs, escort places, strip joints and farmyards not sellers of skins, shapes, body parts and furniture.....

LOL since i don't sell anything "mature" i will stay put. i'll have everyone available to shop at my mall instead of being limited to just a select few (of course, those are probably the mass who spend the most $$ in SL).

hmm also if LL are considering such upheaval to protect those scarred by 'what adults do' why is it SO HARD to sell PG land short of giving it away?
Buying cheap dross mature may be a inspirational investment move hmmmmmmm

From: Storyof Oh Buying cheap dross mature may be a inspirational investment move hmmmmmmm I was thinking something similar. My land is mostly rock and it isn't easy thinking up things to make a rock sim look nice (the store is in the sky). It crossed my mind that, if I moved over there, I'd get some much nicer land.

So, residents engaging in "adult" activities in their own homes and skyboxes will certainly be potentially abuse reported by prying camera peepers. You need a reality check if you think LL employees are going to respond to AR's saying "the neighbours are having sex" in residential areas. This is aimed at businesses, Lindens are already stated early in the threads that it's not aimed at residential sexbed users. Sexbed & skin shops are probably big grey areas, it's LL's decision. Is a sexbed vendor PG or R-rated, none of the pictures depict anything risque? I would perhaps rent land instead till things are clarified, plenty of cheap rentals about. I'm wondering how many people are rushing to make false sexclubs on mature land now just to get a plot on the new continent, ruining the system for others. Also if Lindens do a cheap landswap then existing adult land users can to beat the inevitable Landbarony price hiking that will happen as usual. The new continent will probably be a lot of for sale signs till the prices drop to realistic levels.

Actually Tegg isn't it already a rule that you cannot do adult activity on PG land?
So yes people could theoretically be AR'd if they do, even now, as far as I understand.
All I can say to everyone is, be very careful who you flirt with after teen day...
(To the OP I believe a Linden told someone with a furniture shop that no, their sale of sex beds would not force them to move from mature land.)

Theoretically it is, but really do we think a "my neighbours are using a sexbed in their skybox" AR is going to be taken seriously? I reckont the sender will get laughed at and the AR moused into the recycle bin

He added, as long as people aren't having sex in the store. What isn't known is LL's view on people trying the animations before they buy. We don't know if that would be considered as "having sex" or not, but we do know that people usually need to see what they are paying for before they buy.
