I'm beginning to feel a bit queasy with all this talk of spiders. This time of year is the worst for spiders and crane flies (named daddylonglegs in my childhood) shudders.

I would never harm any other creatures but the above are sucked up by the vacuum cleaner (sorry to spider lovers) which is kept by my desk lol.

I myself don't have problems with spiders, but others in here do. So we agreed that they will be moved with soft handling to the gardens or a shed :).

Guess it must be a house spider - it obviously lives there.

My husband refuses to even remove the spiders. He says they kill other bugs. I say what other bugs? They are the only bugs here! And of course he says....see they are doing their job.:/ Butthead.

They must be doing their job, as if there were really no other bugs, they would starve.

I had a pet crane fly when I used to live in Dublin. Called him Paddy Longlegs.

Never heard them called crane flies before. They are harmless, and do almost nothing else but walk around, eat, and mate. (Like some people I know.)

There is a simple solution to spiders.....

House centipedes eat spiders, they use their many, many legs to hold them when they eat them....

Saw it happen once, and i was pretty horrified.

Hmm, come to think about it, I don’t know which is worse

you lot have never seen a spider.
have a look at what is currently on my front porch: the australian huntsman.

Ah yes, huntsmans! We are in Nth QLD (Tropical part of australia peoples!) and we get BIG mothers of huntsmen. I had a shower yesterday, and after drying off looked in the mirror while starting to dry my hair with it. The saw a HUGE huntsman on the towel. Then screamed and got my foot stuck in a plastic jug. I can't believe it was there while I was using it to dry myself :/. But huntsmans are babies compared to the bird eating spiders we get up here, they grow to be MASSIVE!! We found one under our pond a few months ago, but htey don't kill you. Here is a pic( I didn't take it, but that's a large one):

Huntsman spiders are mere babies compared to this:

Since I saw Charlotte's Web when I was 10, I don't even kill black widows. Found one in my garage and set it free in our back alley. Later that night it spun "Pwned" in its web and bit my dog.

Did you know that spiders are more closely related to crabs than insects? Maybe that's where your crabs went, Ramond...

They went to have a party with their buddies the spiders! :D
