From: Lexxi Gynoid I want the photo thing fixed Lexxi, I found this workaround on the Emerald forums, not sure if it sticks across a whole session's worth of photos or not: From: mewtwo064 This is a confirmed bug in JIRA for the official LL viewer. I asked this question before here on the forums =) Fortunately, there is a way around this. Open up your snapshot window as normal, Select Save to your harddrive. Click on More >> button to bring up some advanced options. Under Size, select Custom and then set the width or height to some large value such as 3000 (Just don't go TOO large or SL will choke and take forever to take the snapshot). Also make sure Constrain Proportions is checked or you will get some odd looking discolored bands appearing on the sides of your snapshot. Optionally you can select the file format, if you choose JPEG I recommend setting the image quality slider to 100 to avoid noticeable jpeg artifacts in the snapshot. Once you're done, just click refresh snapshot and then click save. It will save it at the resolution you chose =)

From: Love Hastings Avast had a bad update. It's finding trojans in all sorts of apps right now. I wouldn't blame Emerald for that. Oh! So *that's* why it sent me 6 emails on one instance of somebody accessing an executable in our payroll software today...

From: Novis Dyrssen It has one thing that is sheer awesomeness for me - a simple button in the lower right corner that gives access to a lot of render settings that influence performance heavily. Notice the "max avatars" slider? Oh my! Have to try that out! And the dropdown menu that is at the bottom of the menu lets you access ALL installed lighting presets on the fly. How awesome is that for photography??? Novis, good morning Those options aren't new in this viewer version

After some more use, animations are indeed messed up. And it still crashes, though it seems to crash at new and different times.

I believe there's a new version with the voice problem fixed available.
What is Max Nodes?

ROFLMAO MY neighbor came over last night and asked me to come take a look at his funky running computer. I installed SpyBot from my USB and SpyBot only found 30 or 40 crapwares and tracking cookies. I installed the latest version of AVAST. I have been ignoring the update notices on AVAST because I like to wait a day or two before updating any software so I can read reviews of the updates before installing them. AVAST went NUTTS on his computer and "found" 117 trojans and root kits. I was telling him how stupid he was for running a high speed connection without protection, looks like I might owe him an apology (he'll never know that though )

From: SuezanneC Baskerville What is Max Nodes? It's a setting for rendering complexity. That is the setting that made complex jewelry, esp. sculpty stuff, vanish in 1.23 when LL reduced the default. I think they bumped it back up with the notecard security update.

From: Sony Swords Novis, good morning Those options aren't new in this viewer version Then it seems I have skipped a version. The one I was running before did NOT have the button, and I was bemoaning the fact that the convenient draw distance slider had been taken out again.

From: Kara Spengler So what one were you running before? I have no idea since the new one is installed and the old setup file vamoosed. For some reason, Emerald release numbers tend to fly over my head.

On Windows, when I install a new Emerald, I put it in a new location, and set the name to include the build number. That way I can run any version at any time. Since they all use the "Second Life" app data folder, it interoperates pretty well in terms of settings, chat logs etc.
