I've sent you a IM for both versions. This is a great idea, i was thinking of doing something like this at my site, but on a smaller scale, now I can concentrate on making my freebie texture boxes :)

Not sure how I missed this thread before today, but I would be ever so thankful to receive the boxed and folder version as I also have a lot of new SL members come through my shop and I hope they will find use of it! Thank you in advance and for even doing this, its really fantastic!

Since this is back up to the top, I figured I stop in and note that I've probably given out 50 of these since I got it and it has always been very well received. Thanks again for putting this together! It's such a great resource.

RL abducted me recently, so I was very behind on catching up with requests. I think I'm caught up now. If I missed you, let me know either here or by IM. My IMs cap (never thought I'd say that) but I keep the e-mail notices.

If you are wanting just a box kit, that's available through a Pick in my Profile in SL (in case I don't get to a request soon enough ;-) )

And thanks all for your kind words. That's super nice of you to say. I really appreciate that and I'm having fun working on this.

Now to answer some questions and ask some others ;-)

Does the new resident kit have any childlike innocence in it?

What kind of innocence? Sorry to seem daft, but yes, let me know what's missing! :-)

Thank you Lucrezia, I got the folders and box in world! :) And careful with the catnip! ;)

Mmnn, catnip... missed that in SL!

Further report from the front lines at Orientation Island

About 97% of recipients say "Thanks!"

I've had one proposal of -- well, not marriage, but close -- from a newb who read my Sex article. He was actually quite charming about it.

One person asked me if the package was booby trapped with spyware. But they took it after I assured them it was safe. I had to shake my head at that one.

Lots of people ask "What's in it?" before actually asking for the kit.

One girl refused my help because I was not an "official Linden helper"..."You have an ad over your head", she told me. (I wear a titler that says, "Ask Me For A Free Newbie Kit!";) I guess advertising makes me eeeeevil.

Fun times!

Thanks for the fun times(tm) report! ha ha Some people are very suspicious. And I can't blame them. But still, you read someone's profile and if it's all good and helpful, chances are they're legit. So did you marry the newb? ;-)

From: Nina Stepford
drag it to the ground, right click it, select open, then copy to inventory.

i think this kit needs a give all script in it.

I tried setting the permissions to copy on left click but it doesn't seem to work. I feel really daft, but can someone tell me the best way to set the options so the contents go right into a folder in someone's inventory? If it's a script, does someone have one they could donate to the project? Thanks much.

Thanks again, everyone, for your kind words and support. And if there's anything that needs to go in the next version, let me know! Cheers.

That would be awesome. I'd love to have some new content to give to some of the newbies of the world.

I'd like to have both the folder and box. thanks!

Please forward copies of box and folder to me? I have a few stores in world that are flooded with newbies and this would be quite helpful for them! Is there something in it about "how do I get money in SL?" that seems to be one of the two questions they are asking. The second question gets them ejected without answer and involves attempts at procreation :P

I think I'm caught up again. LOL If anyone didn't get one, pester me again.

OR...

I think I have the permissions etc. working properly now.

At my Luneko shop (see my Picks on my profile in world) I have:

1. Boxed kit for people to "buy' at $0 to display at their venues, and

2. Folder versions that are perfect for giving away. These will be copied to your own Inventory with a brief instruction on further organization if you wish to make life really easy for the new residents.

As always, feel free to contact me directly. I've had RL things to tend to lately which is why I haven't been in SL as much. So sorry.

Purrs and headbonks to all!

Happy Helping!

PS: As always, if you think of a way I can improve the kit, let me know. I love constructive criticism.

PPS: Once RL calms down I'll release a new version!

Thanks to Lindal Kidd and zeng2008 Ling, there is now a Chinese version of the New SL Resident Resource Kit. YAYAY!

Please see my picks for a landmark to pick up a boxed version if you wish.

Purrs and headbonks to all!
