I have been in SL 2 years on Jan 20th and have never encountered this new hell.. I cannot log in because I have not logged off ...umm... NOT! I logged off approx 5.5 hours ago and it still says Im logged in.
I have tried everything to get back in and nothing.. and the issue is resolved?... not in my book.
Please dont tell me to submit a ticket... I know all about submitting tickets.. the last one took over a month for them to answer and I resolved it myself in a week... but... if some compassionate soul could please tell me what the problem is..Id appreciate it muchly

Jade, in your case, try rebooting your modem and any router between the modem and computer. Might be one of them not letting go of the connection.

And... I keep getting sent to the status page now. Ahhh, this is more like the good ol' days.

Remember all those threads taking the piss out of LL's "RESOLVED" ??

All we need is a scheduled, grid-wide downtime on Wednesdays, followed by three days of grid hate. I really miss the gorillas banging on things for the main page..

The only reason we don't see the complaints about the abuse of the word [Resolved] is because none of us want to buy LL a dictionary and we've finally all realized that the word doesn't mean what LL thinks it means.

Sometimes sending an IM or a TP invite to someone in this state logs them out, but I just tried and it still thinks you're logged in.

What? In the almost two years that I've been in SL, I have experienced that login hell and many many others - as well as lots of inworld asset server hell. You should count yourself very lucky if this is your first time.

Jade - if you have a friend inworld that can try a few things, some of these have worked in the past when people got *stuck* inworld:

1) have someone come and physically push your avatar around

2) have someone orbit you - that one almost always works

I tried the 'pay them L$1' trick and that did not work.

No, no.. see the grid has to be completely closed, everyone outta the pool and it has to be on a Wednesday. THEN they have to do the updates, open the grid back up, then have to close logins as things go butt over head, THEN do rolling restarts. It's gotta be that order! Nothing more and nothing less!

That takes care of Wednesday. The next three days are spent dealing with left overs from Wednesday and/or gray goo attacks. Which, of course, send us to "everyone outta the pool, someone peed in it!"
