Thank you all for all the great ideas about how to conquer the problem of The Futniture Poseballs I Hate. I'm thinking if Ramos poseballs can be turned off in furniture now, it might be a recent thing. My furniture from them is over 6 months old, and will. not. hide.

So, I ended up with new furniture from Abiss. Perfect. And, yes, I love my furniture now. Love it. I would do the happy dance on it, but, really, you shouldn't dance on your new furniture, even in SL. It looks good, doesn't have poseballs sticking out of it, and I don't look like a dork when I sit on it. Life is good. :)

Shout out to Max for sending me the LM as he offered upthread. Dude, you've got great taste. I don't have the SURL handy, but anyone who wants to a LM, IM me and I'll send it your way when I'm back on.

Another satisfied customer :)

I should do this for a living...

Commands for Ramos
02-27-2008 17:02
As the owner of Ramos Designs :) I can tell you all of our furniture has commands to hide the pose balls. It is either by touching them or just simply say hide.. show to reappear (no / or numbers required). You can always IM creators to ask how to work things, we would be happy to tell you. All of our Furniture has most of the poses built into pillows and cushions but the couples cuddles because you wouldn't really know where to sit. Have any other questions feel free to IM us in game and thanks for the support it is appreciate!

Though I appreciate the high quality of Hoffman and Ramos, the styles tend to be a bit pedestrian for my taste - as well as a bit prim heavy.

For unique, fun and well made furniture, (lower prim too) my favs are Del Sol, Xylo and Xandi's Folly (which is connected to Xylo on the same sim). Pose balls are easily hidden. :)

Just my 2 cents

My favorite furniture is from the Woodshed, I would move in the store if I could.

Oh Woodshed is delicious - mmmm.

Oh and let's not forget the furniture offerings of Sue Stonebender and her partner Baron Grayson at his store Relic. His "fat little couches" are so cool, and everything Sue makes is a work of art.

When I have a sim of my own and prims are not an issue...it's gonna be ON. LOL

I have some lovely pieces from Desmond Shang's store that have no scripts or poseballs. I (and my freinds) just sit and use our AO sit poses. You get more versatility that way. Don't always have to be in the same pose on the furniture. Cycle to a new pose as the mood calls for.

Obviously this does not work out well for couples poses.

True North Designs in Goun sim has a great selection of furniture and no pose balls. I have quite a variety of furniture from there, indoor and outdoor. The owner, Dellybean North adds new product for every season. Delly is a pleasure to go to for custom orders. She also makes her furniture quite often in two versions, copiable and transfer. The first so you could decorate to your hearts content and the second is so you can give it as a gift. You can usually buy individual items or boxed sets.

Susan, thank you for posting this. I've had my furniture since last June (probably a long time to go without SL-redecorating!), have referred a lot of people to your store, and have never known this. It has been a while, but is this posted somewhere in the store? (I seem to remember you have a very nice customer service desk, but not everyone goes there.) It honestly made the difference between a purchase/no purchase decision for me, and I might not be the only one.

You can get a poseball switch here. http://uncensored.slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=71803

It will allow you to show/hide all of your poseballs with one click of the button instead of having to type out all of the various commands used on different channels. It comes with a script you can add to any poseballs that do not already include a show/hide function.

Different pose ball creators use different commands to trigger show hide features of thier poseballs. Various commands currently in use vary from open chat ( channel 0) to channels 1, 2, 5, 7, 9 and 69, so to "Show" or "Hide" all of your poseballs you have to repeat ,

"show, /1 show, /2 show, /5 show, /7 show, /9 show & /69 show",

or

"hide, /1 hide, /2 show, /5 hide, /7 hide, /9 hide & /69 hide",
