A new "Friend" appeared in my list, *without* my acceptance....

Are you sure? It is very easy to just click "accept" - especially if you have just logged on and there are a lot of messages.

Are you using a non-standard viewer? E.g., one that can give another permissions to respond on your behalf.

Is it possible that someone else used your computer and did it whilst you were afk?

Maybe you had a pile of notification messages and clicked on it by mistake? It would disappear after you accepted.

This new "friend" appears in the website control page; I have not been back into Emerald all day.

Could it be that an acceptance awaits me in Emerald, but the web pages shows it anyway?

Deselect him/her if you aren't comfortable with it. You have the power of the keyboard. Best not to name names in this forum chap, otherwise someone may stab you with a sharpened prim.
It's very easy to accept friendship requests and sometimes even bite requests by mistake. No-one can really 'spoof' anything, or you.

:eek: - change the name (as I have done above) and certainly don't post the key. The only time you should name names in the forums is if you're recommending their product/service/sim or something similar.

I've never heard of this happening, so I'd chalk it up to either a misclick on your part at some point or a random database glitch. Just defriend the person and get on with enjoying your SL. :)

I hate that they can see us taking them off our friends lists now..
it was much better when you could take someone off your list and not get an IM asking why LOL

now it must be done ninja style and while they are offline..

I have accidentally offered friendship to people when I clicked on them to get the pie menu and unintentionally clicked the Friend button rather than Profile or whatever --- usually when there was extreme lag.

Just drop them from your friends list.

LOL me too.
Its kind of like getting caught with your hand in the cookie jar when you have to admit that you were peeking at their profile and messed up.
Don't trip out on finding a friend request you never meant to make. The pie menu is sometimes a clunky beast at best.

Just delete all your friends and calling cards.
Then you can see the eHarmony condition of "You have no friends... loser".

The little online notifications are starting to hose things up again. I have been considering a clean out of the "Makes it easier to contact" list. (They need to call it something else anyway since it is used for things other than actual socialization)

I'm really not scared if they are on or not..i am just hooked on the ways of the ninja :D
i just wish it was some option we could shut off..i really didn't see a need for it..but oh well it's there now hehehehe
