This really, REALLY, SUCKS.

I specifically came home to bid on land that my land surrounds and that I was responsible for placing ion the que.

And since Linden Labs can't get it's fricken actr togather, I'm going to get extored or worse.

Urghhhh....

They better roll those auctions back.

Jethro, get on the phone or Live Chat to billing NOW!!!

This is an account problem, one that they hopefully should be able to resolve in a few minutes.

So they give you an option to log in as a guest and submit a report, while their support log-in is down.

But then they send you a message saying, since you are a guest you cannot choose that category and your ticket will not be reviewed.

Anyway, I got on the phone with a very helpful guy named Ian and he said I'd get an email about this issue very soon with a link for instructions.

He was vague about if that meant those affected would get the opportunity to submit a bid or if they would roll back the auctions and said the email would address that issue too.

So the resolution lies in a link to a https://jira page for a DEV that I can't even log onto!

Does anyone know where the heck I can create a user log-on account for jira?

"The server jira.lindenlab.com at Linden Lab Jira requires a username and password."

And no, it's not my account name and password.

Tried that. There is no place that I can find to create a username/password.

And when I click the link he provided, I get a secure pop-up window asking me for one.

to login as a guest at secondlife.com/support you use the email address you supplied when you opened your account

I'm not sure what your actual problem is, but you might try turning your modem off for ten minutes or so and turning it back on.

I guess you file a support ticket from in there.

the phone number for account problems is 800-294-1067 or long-distance (not free) 703-286-6277 - they might not be able to help but the 800 number is free i from US or Canada

You might try going somewhere else, a friend's house or a pubic access internet computer.

That you do. But evidently even when the support portal is down, you are still considered a guest.

My actual problem is this error message when trying to log onto the auction site.

'Invalid user integration information'

Turning off my modem won't help integrate my user information.

If I go somewhere else, it will be because SL failed to provide a stable, enjoyable environment. And I'm really, really close to selling my land and leaving SL over this.

Can I have your stuff?

Seriously, there was a blog post about a support portal outage Saturday night. I hope you keep trying, and remember the auction will be up for a couple of days. Oh, and good luck. :)

The auction ended 4 hours ago. That's what has me so pissed of at Linden Labs right now.

I have invested alot of time and money and I should in return be given a stable platform that will perform as intended. If there is a Jira report, then they knew it was an issue.

Here's my assumption on what happened.

The auctions are 'enabled by eBay technology'. So the SL account must somehow be integrated into the ebay software or server or whatever technology they are using.

For whatever reason, my account (and others from what he said) were not integrated.

Today all is fine. They must have worked on it overnite, because it's as easy as clicking the mouse to bid on land. (Support is down again though! lol)

But yesterday that was not the case. When I clicked on bid, it was asking me for a username and a password before it displayed the error.

But I lost an auction because SL wasn't functioning properly. So where do I log my complaint on that?

This was land that I completely, 100%, surround. It was land that I was responsible for submitting to the auction que. It was land that I had every intention of purchasing and ensuring that I was highest bidder. But an SL integration glitch prevented me from bidding.

The new auction system sucks. I feel really bad that this happened to you.

Since it sold to another resident, there is nothing LL will do at this point. You have to contact the new owner and plead your case. I'm guessing it's someone who already owns land in your sim and needed prims. Maybe you can take this land in the center of what you own and give them a different chunk. Keep us posted.

That is just heartbreaking. Hopefully the person that bought it will consider selling at a reasonable price. Good Luck.

Ok, so picture this. A Beautiful tropical paradise and this guy with bnald spots in his wig shows up, puts up a ban line, drops two woods trees and tries positioning a free house.

I IM him several times and I get no response. So I fly right up to him and he immediatley TP's out.

He's going to make my life miserable. And it appears that he's doing it on purpose.

Damned SL and their failure to deliver a stable environment!!

So how far can I go before I get an AR? I already banned him from my land. What else can I do?

The little sh!t put the 1024sqm land up for sale for L$110,000!!

Now I am REALLY, REALLY PISSED!!

SL should be responsible for paying to extortionist. And I'm calling them to tell them that right now

If it's any consolation, the result may have been much the same, even if you'd been able to bid. The auction page sees some pretty outrageous bids, and I think it happens in cases just like this, where somebody notices that a parcel is completely or mostly surrounded, and can tell that the sky is the limit for what that person will pay, so just bids till they get it, then puts it up for sale at a mark-up. Even though they know they've just paid more than the adjacent landowner was willing to bid, it's a better than even chance that there will be "non-buyer's remorse"... or, worst case, they'll lose L$10 by selling at the penultimate bid price. (Of course, if two outsiders try to play this game, they could get badly burnt!)

I sypathise and understand how you feel Jethro.

We purchsed lots of 512sqm plots and a guy purchased just one next to us. We then decided we liked the area and bought more and this meant we surrounded his plot, which he did nothing with.

After about a week we approached him to see if he would sell and he wanted almost double what we know he paid for the plot. We were not interested - it didn't bother us too much - he'd left the plot empty. But then he IM's me saying he wants into our rental business - a considerable percentage of the business in return for the contribution for 'his little plot!' - I didn;t grace that IM with a response and so he put the 512 up for l$100k!

We sat it out Jethro - he gave in in the end and bought the plot down in proce to a very reasonable level which we were prepared to pay. So I keep my fingers crossed for the same to happen for you - this person will realise they are paying tier for a plot that simply wont sell at a stupid price. All the best to you.

My case was turned over to concierge and she told me to AR him since he's probably done it before and they don't want people like that in SL. She said she'd talk to her boss tomorrow and get back to me.

Maybe he'll get banned and the land will go back into que. That'd be a good outcome.

Doubtful. But I would much rather have paid LL the L$110,000 in order to get the satisfaction of not paying an extortionist.

But then I wouldn't have been in the position to report him and he'd be free to do it to someone else.

I'm confused why the person who was able to win the auction because you couldn't log on,

And then put up a couple items and banlines,

Deserves to be banned.

Merely because he put a high sale price on his parcel and had bad hair?

Exactly!! The bad hair would be the main reason!

He doesn't deserve to be banned for this one incident. But if he is proven to be a serial extortionist, then they should consider it.

And don't shoot me. Concierge told me to AR him. I was going to grief him!
