**************************************************************

Hi everyone. I've just started my day by reading the Last Call blog

and I want to apologise publically for any stupid speculation or rumours that I entered into regarding the closure of the quad.

Ginny, even as a duo, has given so much to all our second lives and I feel absolutely guttered for their loss.

There isn't much many of us can do since we have no way of contacting them in real life or sending them anything in real life, but I would like to offer my sim, Stern, as a place where you can leave textured prims with notes of your thoughts, roses or any other gift that you would like to share with the half of Ginny that remains.

Don't forget to take your picture in the Photosphere and drop a full perms copy on Milli Santos for inclusion on our gratitude board. Also, click the candle box to receive a candle and rename it with a message to Ginny.

Please pass this amongst all your friends, fashionistas and anyone who has a blog.

May I add to this thread another sad occurrence, the closure yesterday of the Three Lions pub in Bourton Village sim. It was one of the friendliest and happiest places I knew in SL

I didn't know Ginny, but it is very sad and my condolences to the remaining partner :(

I wish you hadn't. One has nothing to with the other and, unless someone there also passed, you're belittling the loss of a real life by comparing to the loss of a virtual pub.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

I can't even begin to think about what to do in such a situation. And I do find it extremely saddening that people think this could be a marketing guise. Guess that's one of the results of one chain letter to much. :(

The first is making shoes at night while, you know, while the old cobbler sleeps. You can bake cookies in a tree. But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

I don't think there's many people inside SL that won't feel the impact at least to some extent of this. I've looked up to Ginny as an artist for a VERY long time now, and reading this made me feel like my hero just passed, seriously. I would bring people to the Last Call sim just to show them the "art," NO, not clothing, art. I only wish I could express how sorry I am, I just do not have the words.

Ginny was an artist, in the finest sense of the word; even the stuff I didn't purchase from DHC/LC made me realize just how talented he was.

I am very sorry as I didn't realise from what was being said that a real life had been lost. If I had, of course I wouldn't have posted here. I thought the post was about the loss of a place and its owner leaving SL. I did once know someone in SL who I heard later had died in RL so I do know it is upsetting and not to be compared with the loss of mere virtual things. I have deleted my post. Please accept my apologies.

Such sad news! I feel bad that I was quietly drumming my fingers in frustration at the closure of all the stores around Last Call. I can't say that I knew Ginny well but I know the products he created well... and they show a truly shining ability... and dedication... and professionalism... and generosity.

Reading Starley's blog was heartbreaking.

You know..we're how many millions in here now, but we're still a community..dysfunctional as we may be.

To say this is a loss to us all seems so incredibly inefficient.

Oh wow...I'm in tears here..... all of SL revolves around real life...and when life is taken...it effects us as human beings and I'm deeply moved by the blog. I cannot imagine how hard it must be ... and then to take the time to address SL and explain.... that's truly admirable and above and beyond. How easy it would be to just turn away from the computer and focus on the grieving and on healing..... Life does not discriminate.....just because we run around in SL doesn't mean we don't have loss and pain IRL..... I think in what ever way we can...we should pay our respects...not because of SL..or the business...or any of that....but because someone of immeasurable value has been lost to the real world, to those that loved him.

So Sorry For Your Loss
11-11-2007 11:17
As we all stand too close to the edge of the abyss we mourn those who have passed over and we feel the world get a bit colder and smaller. No one that we loved would want us to be inconsolable so let yourself be consoled by the words and feelings around you. Rest assured you will find joy in a new day while holding memories dear, all in good time.

If someone had a spare 512 somewhere it would be really lovely to have a little memorial on the mainland to SLers we have lost over the years. Names could be added over time.

Anybody???

Rest in peace.

I'm not fooled for a minute, i remember Dazzle having many "closing sales", one after the other. They milked sl for all it was worth.

I am deeply saddened for their RL loss, and for SL's loss.

I do believe that there is an actual graveyard sim. I recall reading about it in Hamlet Au's NWN blog. Check that one.

And Kalyrra, that was just callous. They closed the store for 5 days, no money making there!

Don't even dare start this crap... there's a difference between having a 'closing sale' and having the future of your business be in doubt because your partner had died. I don't think many people would fake that in order to promote their business. Besides, no one has mentioned a sale of any kind. If you're going to start making remarks like that, take it elsewhere.

I didn't know Ginny, but his work was really amazing... one of a kind. He'll truly be missed. Condolences to all his friends within SL.

Actually, it is an entire sim named Memoris. Read about it through Reuters.
