thanks everyone so very much. and thanks to all the unexpected offers of tier. i'm touched ... tho tier for the group is/was no problem. it is/was my personal tier that was the issue. i'm at 8K tier and even with the "free" 512, that is less than the land in question. breaking up the land into pieces sounded like a nightmare to me especially since the land was not barren.

anyway, the buyer and i chatted last night. i told her i would buy the land back as an individual and resell to her. i didn't mention my upping tier coz i didn't want to play the guilt game. the only problem was that i would have had to wait one day for the group money to be distributed to me (i'm the only one controlling assets).

to my surprise, she suggested that i just sell each item to her. well, since she said she had the time and it would save me lindens, i agreed.

three hours later, all was transferred. whew!

again, thanks to all for the help and the tier offers. you all have become the friends i've never seen.

... except bilbo of course ... *waves to bilbo*. you'll like the new owner, bilbo. she's keeping the land intact and just adding a house where the apple orchard used to be.

Can tier be donated to a single avatar rather than a group?

Not as far as I know. The way donated tier could possibly help is if Egon had other land that could be covered by that donated tier, or had himself donated tier to some group that could be replaced temporarily by somebody else's tier. But I'm not sure either of those is the case here.

[Edit: Okay, that's all redundant with other posts now anyway... and in the meantime, so glad to hear the good results!]

just re-read ... it's nice to know that linden plants/trees do not transfer with a sale.

thanks so very much for the offers, honey & okiphia.

however, this was settled last night (see above). the new owner and i toured the property inch by inch aa i sold each item to the new owner. so, no re-sales were necessary.

In a case like this is there any way the parcel's objects could be rez-foo'd then given to the new owner, who would temporaily give rights to mod her objects to the builder so he could place them? I'm asking out of curiosity.

they ALL have to be transferable? even if i missed one or two items, the free linden trees should have transfered ownership, no?

Nope. The non-transferable items will be returned to you, either upon the transaction or when the land is set to return objects (if it is set). The rest will have the new owner's name on them.

There's another reason not to sell items with the land. It's bugged when dealing with Mod objects. I reported it to JIRA Back in June, and still not even a peep from LL.
