From: Blaze Nielsen Yep, most vehicle scripts just perform badly in quirky ways now in havoc 4. I've updated all my drivable boats, jetskiis, yachts, etc. to work properly now and will exchange the new updated version for my previous customers at no charge. I've always given Lindens some slack with their messed up releases, but this one takes the prize for pissing off creators in sl. Well the physics engine is much improved and I am not understanding why so many people are pissed off about a better environment when all you have to do is change some code in your scripts that were basically hacks to make it behave correctly. Sure it can be a pain if you have dozens or hundreds of scripts you now need to change but I think it is well worth it for the other improvements. Then again I am one of the lucky few forum dwellers that can count on one hand how many times I have crashed in the last month and I am on for hours every evening and here and there through the day as well as only having a handful of scripts to update.

I think most of the people complaining here are users that have purchased items from vendors. I am not a scripter.. So I rely on the people that I purchased my product from to fix issues. If they do not respond.. its frustrating. I'm glad havok 4 is better for you.... I have seen no improvement in my own SL experience.. Its only been worse. But, I am just a casual user that spends a ton of money here. From: Tony Giffen I've also sent him numerous IM's and notecards detailing the problem and I get no response. I have bought over 50 of these devices and given them to friends, so its a little irritating.
Looks like I am going to give up on The Swimmer and go look at SLwim as soon as I get online. Thanks for those that suggested it. Sorry for the necro, but Siggy says there'll be a new release of The Swimmer soon (hopefully this weekend), not only fixed but with new features. He says Havok4 was not the issue, but some other fixes that went in at about the same time. Some Waterworks slides have also begun exhibiting a problem that he's working on as well. *happy dance*

I was seriously wondering if his Player had _died_ in RL... He had been very nice to work with when I first met him in-world, so it semed so strange that he had dropped off the face of SL like that. Very glad to hear that he is back, and that his products will be updated again!

[I'm glad to hear Siggy is back to work, as there's a Waterworks slide on Livingtree that needs help, another friend has a slide with issues, and I know I'm not the only one who misses her Swimmer.

I write a lot of scripts, including several sailboat versions as well as some lighter than air scripts.. All of mine work just the same as before.. Well I had to tweak the ride height on the sailboats, but that was a problem with the old engine that was fixed in the new Havoc.. But all my scripts always "played by the rules" ie. no "hacks" to the old engine to get around things.. The scripts I see having problems all had some sort of "hack" in them to get around limitations in the Havoc 1 engine.. Those hacks no longer work in most cases and so the scripts no longer work either. Those creators that are still in SL pretty all seem to be trying to update their products to work with the Havoc 4 engine. Some of the creators of the "freebie" scripts are no longer around and those will not be fixed anytime soon. BTW I did go on to the beta server and test all my products on the new engine before it was released so I knew everything would be ok when Havoc 4 rolled out.. That is what is was there for, and anyone creating products that use the Havoc engine should have done the same.. Just good business in my eyes.

My swimmers have been tested under H4 and they work fine.
My couples skating vehicle had to be rescripted for H4 and the new version is now available. If anyone has an old version that no longer works, please contact me for a free upgrade.

Does anyone know if there is an upgrade from the Swimmer 1.1 to the 2.0 version? Doesn't seem to be.

Andrew made it pretty clear that LL wasn't going to fix that one. He even says that he returned Siggy's vendors. !!!

From: Tony Giffen I'm shocked to see more people not mentioning this. Since havoc 4, none of my objects that interact with SL or Prim water are working. None of my boats work any more. Haven't tried cars or land vehicles yet
