I think he's saying he was renting multiple parcels and exceeded his prim allowance. If he was renting on two sims, then his prim allowance wouldn't be aggregate, it would be separate for each sim. He drove his high prim boat across the sim barrier (neat trick, that - I can't even get my hair across a sim barrier) and parked it in a different sim where his allowance was smaller.

I'm not a landlord, but isn't booting and banning a bit extreme for going over prims? Just return the boat. Or was it because he did it twice? Still, I wouldn't be so quick to eject a paying tenant over that.

Generally I wouldn't either, but look at it from this point of view: if you are dealing with the same problems for at least 2 months, with no response from the tenant, would you want to keep putting up with it, no matter how much he paid? A banning may be a little bit over the top, but the eviction is warranted. 2 months is an eternity in SL time, and life is too short to be frustrated by a seemingly high maintenance tenant. Not saying that he is, but it can be perceived that way, especially when you consider that notices were blown off.

Since you seem to have problems keeping up with obligations in SL, paying rent on time for boats and apartments, etc. Getting involved with bad investments. Why not just give up that materialistic ownership aspect and enjoy all that SL has to offer as a homeless person. Live the life of a gypsy, no obligations, enjoy yourself where ever you find yourself, wander, hang out, you do not really have to pay any money or own land to have a good time. There are lots of places you can rezz and sail a boat for free.

I agree, there is probably more to this story then we know, that resulted in the banning, we are only hearing one side of it. From someone who at best we know has been irresponsible in fulfulling his obligations.

I thought he was paying rent. I agree that there might be more here than meets the eye. He's also saying that he got banned and that his stuff is still in the sim. If the owner banned him, then he should have at least returned his stuff.

And also..if this sheds any light on the OPs intent or how they carry on social interactions in SL...We aren't supposed to name names..isn't that person he mentioned an actual avatar?

So...someone didn't think that the average Linden exchange rate applied to them..they went to Ginko.

Someone didn't think that prim allowances applied to them..they insisted on buying "yachts and docks"

Someone felt if they threw enough money at the renter all their mistakes and negligences would be forgiven.

Then they come to the forums and they name names ((yet another example of not being able to walk the line in a virtual world))

The only thing you seem to be a victim of is approaching your SL way to casually. If you have that much money..you don't sink it into player anything..if you have that much land and those many objects...you make the time in the course of a week to log on and make sure its all still there. If you choose not to...then be prepared for the consequences.

Now now Lana. To be fair, he's not complaining about the consequences. He seems to accept them as unfortunate but reasonable.

/me shrugs

I wouldn't even call them unfortunate..but expected and quite acceptable considering. .

Theres obviously a pattern of behavior and the OP went out of their way to mention this guys name more than once.

Titling the post with the end ":-( should I leave?" implies that somehow the OP is a victim.

Don't leave. Change how you handle your SL affairs. Learn from it and move on.
