I guess I don't really see that much gender distinction in the majority of popular dance animations out there. Most of them I think can work just as well for a male avatar as for a female. Dance is an expression that can either reinforce notions of gender assignment/identity, or transcend it. The majority of what I have observed and used myself seem to lean toward the latter, specifically designed male+female couple dances notwithstanding.

Do we have to dance

I was hoping the road to perdition, dissolution and disgrace didn't require dancing. I don't like dancing, but if I must...

i find that a lot of clubs dance balls seem to be geared more towards fem dances, so i just load up about 10 different dances that i bought, and flip around between them.

i normally don't mind a femmy dance move, but some are just too seductive and look weird.
some girly 60's type of mod dances are cool though if your a dude, as they are mostly just in good humor, imo.

i tend to like some of the break dances i've found. they jibe well.

Hmmm, yes. I can honestly say the only problem I have with men doing female dances is when they look better doing them than I do....

It completely depends on the specific dance. Some that are considered female dances are not really that bad for a guy to do.

Real Men dont dance!!! :p
Smart men dance because they have learned that it is one thing that a woman enjoys - not to mention, if done right, dancing is sensual seduction at its finest.

Hear hear! Most of the dances I've seen on chims and otherwise look okay on both male and female.

This isn't in reference to any of the times I have danced one of my female dances at the hangout, is it?

Ah, you refer to that night we danced together naked at the Hangout...? ;)

Oh, and then there was Daros Jewell dancing in his leather g-string the next week...

*So* many memories.

Well, a few things after flipping through this wonderful discussion...

First: Yes, I can attest that Sassy is 100% equal opportunity /me flashes his wallet sized snapshot of him in a pink thong dancing female dances with Sassy and more

Second: As for men dancing to "womens" dances...define womens dances? I'm looking to start a part time job as a male dancer, and there really are no good male specific dances out there for that line of work...the sexy, sensual, female dances in that aspect can be unisex..

On the dance floor though, just dancing I usually pair up with a friend or one of the bar hosts (usually all female) and while I'm dancing there swaying my hips and laying on the floor to arch my back, the way I see it I'd look like a jack-jawed fool solo, as long as I'm paired up with a female and actually dancing close in syn, I think it looks pretty good.

Thats just my take ;-)
