Probably the best starting point is the Texturing Tips forum especially this thread.

There's some templates and other information here:

http://www.robinwood.com/Catalog/Technical/SL-Tuts/SLTutSet.html

Also, do check out that forum link above. :)

Robin Wood's templates (Marianne's post) are my favorite :) But if you are thinking of making clothes in SL, the texturing tips forum is your friend!

I've never made clothing before, and don't want to do anything complicated. Is it easy to just put some text on a tee shirt? Would I just create the text as a texture, and then use a template for a tee shirt?

Thanks for any advice. Not looking to get into the clothing business, just want to make a simple gag tee shirt for a friend!

I use CMFF templates. They are pretty good.

You can get some t shirt templates off Xstreet and dl them to PC add text in your image editing program... easy.

I see a lot of people using them.

Not sure if this has been addressed yet. But you spoke of simple...

She made a new video tutorial the other night on alpha channels stuff as well, and is putting out one on "painting" on clothing layers in 3D in Photoshop CS4. She had me preview the latter last night, making me with I had CS4. A lot.

Hi!

Thanks, everyone!

Princess, if all you want to do is put some text on a t-shirt, my finished t-shirt template should help you do that. That's what I designed it for. :D

You can download it (for free) from my site at
/327/73/325726/1.html#post2463203

There are links on that page for the download, and also links to a written tutorial that will walk you through using it, if you're not sure how.

And yes, anyone who wants to make clothing, come over to Texturing Tips. We help a LOT with that over there!

Hope this helps!
