should I fear if I express my opinion about reported bad behavior from LL?

reading a couple years worth of postings is overkill imo.
i believe what was being suggested was a synopsis of the events that led up to the current circumstances. it was then stated that this forum would not be the best place to start a prokofy discussion. do you disagree? can you indicate which comment implied information was 'hidden away'? or did you just make that one up?
of course you are already aware of this, but you couldnt resist the opportunity to be abrasive.
it doesnt make you appear nearly as clever as you may believe.

the thing is, if you're wrong, that happy lag complai8ning peeps make LL look good for the overall community while they secretly oppress anyone truly against them...it is somewhat of a gamble... (and talking about gamble, from what I've heard, SL is against its own rules, people who buy L$ might get some real life money from SL, and they might have to pay even more than they agreed to pay if "someone" wakes up on the wrong side of the bed...)

I've heard tons of talk about the nasty things LL did to relatively innocent people, and with the exception of situations like this where there is the suspicion LL might be fully honest, not much talk has been arising about how all the bad stuff many people say LL do isn't real...


why aren't thousands of people out there marching on a parade to honor the honesty of LL, and a bunch of blogs talking about the nasty people that make up lies about LL just "to get lulz" or somthing like that?

I haven't been convinced so far that I shouldn't be expecting some big nasty thing happening to me and/or some people I know "accidentally"....


ps: I know that stuff like tripping on wires, dropping coffee on a router and big fires do happen accidentally for real, but the fact that the explanations based on accidental mishaps are very plausible , just makes it more easy to have those type of stuff happening to people they dislike and then they claim it is not their fault... ("look, we've just fried a whole bunch of gorean sims, not just yours, we wouldn't be killing our own people like that, would we...?"


ps2:but being the way I am, I am not completly closed to the idea a big company like LL wouldn't be doing politics (or pretend I've used some other analogy if the reference to politicians offends you or somthing like that, I know you got my point), it is indeed possible all the fuzz that have reached my ears so far has been the result of some initially harmless misunderstanding or somthi8ng like that, and I'm sorry if I made some bad choice of words, expressions etc when talking about this, I'm just kinda fearing that if it was real many people would be falling for that facade, if nothing bad comes after me or people that talk about stuff like that it is either cause they are indeed the good guys and won't mind the conspiracy theorists having their fun (on their own way), or that the tinfoil hats just helps them convincing the general population there are no roswel mascots pulling the strings all over the world and that it just stuff crazy people think about....anyway, proceed with the convo, I'll be here for as long as I can

If you're really worried about someone at LL "Getting Even" or "Punishing the Complainers" that much, then simply don't say anything bad about SL or LL.

LL is a company whose employees are individuals. No matter what the overall corporate attitude is, there will always be one or two individuals in any company that have their own way of handling things - that go against the corporate rules. Sometimes these people do things they shouldn't do just because they lost their temper, or in the worst case, need professional help.

From my personal experience with SL and LL in the last eight months, I think that LL, overall, has a pretty good attitude. Now a few months back, one of their employees made some statements in the official blog about some rules that caused a very big outcry from the user community. It wasn't what was said, but how it was stated - almost on the verge of being what some would consider fascistic. Although LL backed up the content of what was said, that person hasn't made many more official blog entries.

Now as far as the Prokovy situation is concerned, I cannot comment on that since I know nothing about it. The only thing I do know, is that I've read other peoples comments that that person tends to go too far with caustic comments. If Prokovy truly annoyed one of LL's employees when they were having a *bad* day, then it's possible that they did something that they were not authorized nor allowed to do.

The bottom line is, it's OK to critisize LL or SL here. LL even welcomes constructive critisizm. But no one likes being constantly harrased with crude, caustic or vulgar critisizm.

If you have something to complain about, try to say it, calmly and cooly, without making it a personal attack because even some of the best of people will get even for hurting them - if pushed too far. It's only human nature.

Well, duh, Dude! LL is a small company with a possible huge payoff in the event of success, and an even more likely big downside if they fail. If a resident - let's say he's named, oh... Spot ... is "truly against them", and Spot shows himself to be competent enough to endanger the company, wouldn't the Lindens be idiots if they simply ignored Spot? So they won't.

But the method by which they would prevent Spot from harming the company does not need to be secret -- it is already open. That is what the TOS is for, to prevent residents from harming LL or each other. If Spot finds a new way to harm LL that is not covered by the TOS, LL does not have to do anything secret. They just amend the TOS any time they want, and toss Spot out. Simple.

They do not need to secretly disconnect routers or sabotage your sim.

So. Abide by the TOS, and you will be treated reasonably fairly by the company. If you encounter an LL employee who is not behaving ethically, demand an investigation. They (the company) will pay attention ... at this stage, they don't want any trouble. But don't expect them to like you for it if you waste their time with spurious claims.
