From: Innula Zenovka It's not a pyramid scheme, though, at least not in the normal sense of the term -- a financial scam that depends on duping the victims with illusory promises of wealth if they recruit sufficient dupes who, in turn, recruit more dupes http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyramid_schemeThey have to recruit new people and sell things to them, as I understand it, in order to make more money. Without new recruits no one makes their money back. To me that is a pyramid scheme but in the least it's annoying to a lot of folks.

I'll let any vampire bite me for $L50,000. No takers, so far.

From: Melita Magic Treasure, people wearing it to know who else is about to spampire them is a good point and I bet some places haven't thought of that possibility.
.
Thing is, on second thought I don't think it would matter that I am wearing the HUD. Because what the HUD does is detect who is human and who is vampire (several different groups, Bloodlines, Hunger, WAR, and couple others) but if you are NOT vampire, it says 'Human'. So, if a sim owner detected that I was wearing a HUD, it would also detect that I am not a vampire, so maybe would cancel each other out.

To me that is a pyramid scheme but in the least it's annoying to a lot of folks. Who are "they," in this context, though? As far as I know, Bloodlines vampires don't have to go around selling stuff to each other or new members (unless they happen to choose to have affiliate vendors on their land). If by "they," you mean the guys who invented the game, then of course they want new customers to whom to sell stuff. So does any merchant. They just happen to have hit on a method of giving their existing customers an incentive to try to drum up new business for them, unpaid, in a particularly irritating way. I agree they can be an infernal nuisance but I just don't see how they can be fairly accused of the sort of financial scam inherent in a pyramid scheme or even the often wildly-optimistic promises of sales income associated with multi-level-marketing.
