Gita, I just noticed your location.

I'm in northern Virginia too. Send me a PM and you can have my cell phone number, if you don't have anyone else to call.

We may be talking about two different things. Is there a router between your modem and your computer/multiple computers?

If there is, then just unhook the cable from the modem to the router and plug it directly into your computer. Then you can just toss the router and go down and get one for about $50 and set it up the way you want with him locked out of it.

If you are instead talking about the modem then just call Verizon and they will walk you through what needs to be done to reset the password etc.

And finally a warm greetings from Woodbridge!!!

EDIT: As suggested, please do not hesitate to call someone, police, shelter etc at the first sign of trouble. Get it in an offical record somewhere. Unfortunately this is probably the start of further troubles. By his actions, he is a control freak and they are some of the worst bastards to deal with and can be violent at times. Changing the settings on a router may seem rather petty and harmless but this indicative of a troubled personality.

Jesse and Lindal, I can not sent PM's, all I see is a blue screen. This is pretty much it...I see messages, I can click reply, and this box appears. All the writings below are now hidden too. So this is kind of half blocked. Weird.

And I'm in Triangle. Nice to finally hear from people in this area! I thought everyone else is so far away...

What model router? You can generally access the settings by entering the IP address of your router into your browser. How you go about that will depend on what router you're using.

we can assume Mr. Ex set a different password..

On mine there is a littel button on the back that sets it all back to factory defaults.

What I'd do without hesitation is format my hard drive this weekend and reinstall everything..........set a strong password for access to the computer. Someone who would go to the trouble of blocking anything on a router for a home network to anyone over the age of 18 is very likely to install a keylogger on someone's computer.

They might even have cancelled the subscription to the Chick Movie cable channel . . .

Pep..hug!

Yes, I have a keyword blogger on this, he said that much. If I try to stop living because I'm spyed on, I don't live at all. So, I dont care...I will find out how to remove it and then password protect my comp.

Nowadays so big part of staying in touch with people is electronical, and we have friends who exist only virtually. To give up on good friends like that is defenately not required in any circumstances, so I will stand my ground on this one...what ever happens.

Gita,

Take your computer tower and the router to Golden Tech Computers. They are in the shopping center with Staples and the China Buffet.

I am the purchasing agent and IT person for a company and they are the most knowledgeable in the area and have the best prices. Explain what is going on and they should be able to clean all of the crap off of the computer and straighten up the router.

Best Wishes

It's not pleasant to have someone throw reams of printed out "what they had dissected as incriminating" chat logs obtained from logging anothers' virt life.
Although not involved, it happened to a friend and it was very sad and creepy!
I suck, I stopped talking to my friend because I never knew what I said to be funny or random was going to set off the mistrusting control freak on my friend, was really awkward.

"cheating" in SL really isn't cheating so much as symptomatic of a troubled RL relationship.
