And I intended my original comment to be a fairly light hearted tongue in cheek throw away comment that was *not* supposed to be responded to. I was not expecting to be immediately descended upon in the way that followed or should I expect the people who disagree with my views are going to hound me everytime I make a comment about the subject in any thread?

As regards my "bitter history" I post like everyone else does.
Sometimes I respond to thing positively and sometimes I don't. When I get insulted then have on at least one occasion insulted back. I do not see that as a bitter history, again your choice of words is very emotionally charged for someone who does not want to make things worse.

The fact remains you did choose to critise my post as being unhelpful and extreme (which it was suppose to be as it was only half serious), critising something as being unhelpful does not add anything either and so you become as guilty as the person you complain about, hence my Pot Meet Kettle comment.

I have nothing against you either Cristalle but if you truly do not want to make things worse then choose less provocative terms with me or choose not to critise my posts when I have already explained it was not completely serious.

Gabriele, I call things as I see them. I have seen you pick a fight with Phil on the bot usage issue. As far as I see it, that's "bitter history" and that is your business with Phil.

I am not defending their reactions to your statements in this particular thread, because those were too extreme a response. But I don't particularly care about them in this instance, I care about the OP more than them and you, and since I intended to help the OP, that was that. It is not personal. I don't mean to make you feel jumped upon, but if you cannot stand disagreement, don't post.

I have started no other fights. You write as if I do this routinely, that it not so - all else is simple debate or disagreement. That is not a bitter history, and for someone who does not want this to be personal you are sure dredging up a lot of unecessary stuff.

I have seen you have heated disagreements with people also, are we to dredge those up too? Are those bitter histories? Do *we* now have a bitter history? This is absurd and unnecessary.

I can stand disagreement Cristalle but if you cannot see that you *did not* help the OP one bit by critising my original post then you have lost the perspective you hoped to bring and your sense of humour (albiet satirical humour). Continuing this is just making it worse. My advice is that you will do more good to the OP to stop now than to keep at it.

As far as the actual topic is concerned, I have lost no perspective and this side discussion about your feelings has done nothing to change that. As for the rest... I am done.
