As some of you know there are many about to be worldless and in need of new home. Is there away we could invite them here and help the refugees of TSO to come here in SL? Any suggestions. There is a lot of very talented and kind people if I remember that world right who really never heard or were intimidated by this world that might really enjoy being here. As residents of this world is there any way we can reach out to another virtual world of the Sims, and TSO. Is there a way we could invite them here and host them as fellow friends of a another virtual world as residents? It would be for the greater good of all of us if they came and fell in love with our world and all its possibilities.

I can only think that you'd have to find TSO fansites and let people know about SL.

I never tried the Sims online. I did play it on my computer, but grew very bored when I found out I had to tell the stupid pixelperson to sit on the toilet or they'd pee all over the floor. Some people get into that, I guess. I didnt though

This will likely help There out too. Lots of people are having issues with the new graphics not working on their PCs. If refugees from TSO find that happening they may head to There and give it a well deserved boost. I do think most TSO players, if not all know about places like There and SL. It is just a matter of if they will be so disgusted at losing their items, land, simoleans, etc to try another and run that risk again. Either place they go I am sure they will be quite gun shy.

At least they can come here for free as basic members and hang out with their friends. They don't have to start acquiring products and goods right away, I was just thinking it might be just safe place for them to go when their planet or world dies in August. Yeah it is hard leaving anything you've become attached too be a virtual world and belongings you've acquired, spent lot of effort and time on and spent lots of money real life money on. I have been there several times. I just reading the blog of these people and remember how it was. Wishing there was something that could be done.

Yes, the free aspect is a good sell for them. They will be asking where the bathrooms are and who is going to cook for awhile though.

You could post a comment inviting them here, and maybe there are TSO forums? I've never been there so I can't give any pointers, but myabe that's an idea.

It is EALand blog but lot of people left email for their friends I wonder if it would be tacky to email them with brochure of our world....but they are going to need people to befriend them help them out if they arrive here. I have done a search but most fansites have hidden EA mind controllers so they may not be so welcoming for the invites.

To reduce prim count one could use a dining table with toilets as seats.
They're probably supposed to mill around until Spore starts.

That would game instead of musical chairs it could be musical toilets...but there would need to be away to randomly turn off the music without crashing It might be whole more fun then mindless training in skill houses. Yet those who need campers they could give free items for imaginary skill points too. EAlanders and TSO refuge who spent to much time in skill houses might find camping like home.

So are they finally going to close TSO? I heard they were 3 years ago but didn't. It was getting pretty dead when I left in 05. Surprised it is still going, why are they ending it?

There is lot of upset people too here in the comments to the closing http://www.ea-land.ea.com/blog/?p=1156#commentsI got no clue what or why EA does what they do, but you think LL got problems EA how they do things is a whole lot more dysfunctional in my opinion that why I quit buying their products in 2003

Well, that makes two virtual worlds closures this year. Disney's virtual magic kingdom and TSO.
Those are both backed by big money companies with deep pockets and they are out of gas.

From what I understand, EA is coming out with a Sims 3. Perhaps they are dumping TSO to make way for a Sims 3 upgraded Virtual World.
However, this has to be good news for SL. I mean, as sad as I am, even though I only went into TSO one night, hated it, and cut short my free trial the next day, I can seriously see SL population gains to be had if we sell the TSO refugees on SL.

Might be so but there is lot of very upset Ealanders and TSO'ers who are now feeling like I did in 2003. I got really burned out in 2003 and quit buying their products.

No offense, whatsoever but, this is all we need is more people logging into SL!!!!! It's bad enough as it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know if advertising SL to the TSO is such a good idea with all the problems SL is having for the past several months, especially lately!!

FD, this is a really sweet thought on your part. Looking at the other EA thread, there are quite a few people here on the forums who know both worlds (I don't). If y'all put your heads together, I bet you could put together a pretty good FAQ for people coming from TSO to SL, that would help them with the things that are different.
If it was written well enough (there are a lot of decent writers on the forums who could help polish it up), perhaps Jon Linden might be willing to put the article in the Knowledge Base FAQs.
The same group of people could create a group inworld for SL/TSO newbies to ask questions in as they get used to SL, similar to Land Answers. People might even meet each other through this group and have ex-TSO parties! .

I remember some things about EAland/TSO but that was like in 2003 been ill, memory not good but I would more then willing help with what I can. Yet I can't do it alone so I would need others to help. I would donate time and help them with what I know how to translate things to here but there is a lot I don't know. The stuff I know is more geared towards 2d artist trying to do 3d. TSO that I remember did have some type of building limits but they were different, the land was set up different too. There is no skills like there is in TSO, you have to earn your skills here the hard way. The money you have here you earn from others or you buy with real money. There similar but different. Use to be there was flat fee for everything. There could be services like that here but there isn't now unless Ansche or some landbaron has service like that.
