This poll is worthless without the names of the voters, so I am ignoring it and would encourage you all to do so as well.

Really Mr. Daniels? Then give us your RL name...

Whichever table of people who shows basic common courtesy to the other patrons. I don't want to be forced to overhear your conversation.

Oooh!! First post for an alt that belongs to whom? Now THERE'S a poll worthy of RA! Let's see...no typos....no evidence of scholarly leanings.....hmmmm. JW Landar, a little more please. You're giving us very little to buzz about here.

well let's see

even though I have been away from the forums for a couple days, I know who the poll is about

so that being said... I would choose neither. I would leave the restaurant

because you see...

once one sees the other at the restaurant, fighting is sure to ensue, which would make my dining experience unpleasant, so I would just go elsewhere...

As a comparative newcomer to the forums (or perhaps hiding your known avatar behind an alt, which is pure hypocrisy) perhaps you haven't understood that one's rl persona is entirely irrelevant to the discussion in progress. No-one is voting for or against the person behind the avatar, who might have an entirely different character from that shown in the forums. Your post is both misguided and irrelevant. Perhaps you should think longer before your second post.

Would we be chatting in voice, or typing? Not having heard either one of you speak, I have nothing to base that choice on.

Is the decision to be made based on the forum personalities of the two? If that were the case, I would have to say the man. Not because I think he is better, chattier, funnier...but because I really have no knowledge at all of the lynx's personality. I do not read it's forum posts, I might read a sentence but I haven't time to try to figure out what it is saying and no inclination to decipher it. When I see the lynx post a topic, I generally do not go in and look at it (I mean no offense to the lynx, I am just stating a fact).

If we were to be typing, again it would have to be the man. See the above paragraph.

I did not vote but now I will...I had no idea what all the "lynx" and "man" was lol

No, no alt here. I am someone who has read the forums for some time, but never felt the urge to participate.

It is humorous to see how you attempt to distinguish your RL from your SL persona, such as it is. I have seen you, in other threads, discuss your son and your profession or former. Were those not from your RL? I have seen you criticize someone's typing skills. Was that not directed at a RL person. You, Mr. Daniels, hide behind an avatar and engage in prickly commentary that I doubt you would have the courage to whisper in RL, let alone say to a RL person.

Of course you are voting for or aginst the person behind the avatar. It is obviously the person behind the avatar that makes the avatar "talk," act and in some cases think. Whether it is a role the RL person assumes or their actual thoughts, well, that is a different matter. Certainly, I hope that Mr. Daniels is a role you assume, but perhap not. Perhaps you are the cranky, pretentious snob Mr. Daniels appears to be. No offense to the RL you of course. Just an SL comment.

Someone already said in in the many threads: Behind every avatar is a real person on the keyboard. Based on that information I would choose another restaurant.

If you want to wait on my table, could you please do that in another restaurant? In that case I promise to bring that cutlery :)

I like the interaction between the two.

The potential for comedy gold is waaay up there!

Every act needs a bit of interplay. Laurel and Hardy, Sherlock and Watson, Yogi and Boo-Boo Bear. I wouldn't change a thing...

A harsher test might be: who would you want to be eternally stuck on a desert island with?

You'll forgive me if I don't believe you.

I am delighted that I amuse you. It is a large part of my intent here. That you can not comprehend the difference between Pep and his auteur flatters the latter even more.

From: JW Landar
I have seen you, in other threads, discuss your son and your profession or former. Were those not from your RL?
I suppose you believe everything you read in the newspapers and watch on TV. Those documentaries about space travel are good aren't they, especially the Next Generation series . . .

From: JW Landar
I have seen you criticize someone's typing skills. Was that not directed at a RL person.
I don't criticise typing skills. I point out that if someone can't be bothered to present their arguments with some care I will think less of their arguments. The presentation of your own posting leaves much to be desired, so you can guess what I think of JW Landar's intellectual capabilities.

From: JW Landar
You, Mr. Daniels, hide behind an avatar
You are getting it wrong again. I am not the avatar. Mr Daniels is the avatar.

From: JW Landar
and engage in prickly commentary that I doubt you would have the courage to whisper in RL, let alone say to a RL person.
Pep would quite happily communicate his opinions in person, and for what it is worth, the person behind him has made a lot of money out of telling people what they were doing wrong and how to correct it.

From: JW Landar
Of course you are voting for or aginst the person behind the avatar.
Speak for yourself in your ignorance.

From: JW Landar

Perhaps my famous countryman Sir Anthony Hopkins is a cannibal as well.

From: JW Landar
Perhaps you are the cranky, pretentious snob Mr. Daniels appears to be. No offense to the RL you of course. Just an SL comment.
You are entitled to your opinion of course. You also have the right to be wrong.

Pep (Pretentious snobby Welshman? An extended oxymoron if ever I have heard of one; cranky I will happily admit to though)

Yes, I am still mostly dead. I do still lurk a bit. But I could not pass this up. Stuck at a table between Jig and Pep. I detonate the bomb in my briefcase after first removing all innocent patrons from the cafe.
