This is simply an "entertainment". It does have some consequneces in sl. After all, we often overhear conversations when we are on line. Group chat, mall chat, etc. I often thhink they are wonderful insights into all of us.

In this scenario (and in answer to a challenge posed to me earlier today), I ask you to imagine taht YOU are seated in a restaurant at a table between two other tables. Seated at one is myself who I shall call "Lynx" to avoid any repercushions. I am talking to my friends loud enough for you to overhear my chatter. At the otehr table is a "man", the "challenger". He also chatters aways too his friends.

You eat. Listening to each of us in turn. We dont disturb your meal BUT the manager comes over and asks you a simple question.

Which of teh two people have you preferred to listen to?

Maybe re-mapping your keys will enable you to spell correctly, everytime. If you wanted to, that is. Just a thought.

This poll is worthless without the names of the voters, so I am ignoring it and would encourage you all to do so as well.

Nina - I don't like cats much but that is a bit harsh on Lula.

This poll is defective. There is no Pie option--and the premised premises is a cafe!

Going by the number of polls created for this, and the fact that there's no real question in this one as it's merely the choice between a group of people that contains a man and a group people that contains a woman, with no further information at all, I'd ask the manager for another table.

Now, if it was a choice between Pep and you, Jig, I'd choose Pep - for the humour - but it isn't, so I'd want another table.

I am thinking of changing my soubriquet to "Pie". What do you think? Would it enhance my potential attractiveness? Would it confuse people even more?

Pep (Should I start a poll?)

I can't understand the purpose of this at all. If overhearing the chatter is the subject in question then what is the anatomical features of the speaker got to do with it? Girls can talk tecchy, guys can get embroiled in cooking recipes; are conversations so gender stereotyped for you Jig?

Ah but all we know is that there is female in one group and a male in the other. Almost certainly there is also a male in the first group and also a female in the other, so the groups are pretty much the same with nothing to differentiate between them.

Qie's Fundamental Principle of Forums:
Conservation of Confusion

- First Law: The total Confusion of any Resident Answers poster is a constant.

- Second Law: Correct Resident Answers do not go unpunished.

- Third Law: For every Resident Answer there is an equal and opposite lolcat.

Since I've posted my answer to this question (or some variation thereof) in several other misguided though seemingly related threads, I abstain. From voting. That means I won't. Vote that is. So there. (I pick Pep.)

That seems to conform with the Conservation of Confusion theory . . .

Pep (You may be on to something there, Qie)

Still confused and deciding to simply smile and hope everyone moves along. Nothing to see here.

You HUNG Chad? Pictures are hung; people are hanged. But in any case, I LIKED Chad (and the entire state of Fla. with the exception of the pesky Republicans).

There are said to be exceptions. (Not, however, in my experience. :( )
