More Yellow Today?

Is it my imagination or do I see quite a bit more yellow on the map today?

I watch a few areas on the map......pulled them up today.....and they are almost all yellow now?

Did everyone go home last night - give up on the promise of a land swap - and tag their land for sale?

I remember the good old days when I would jump up and down the minute I saw yellow and snag it - never a bad move - always profitable - and always Fun to have a raw piece of land to play with. How can we make that fun again?

Without whining and moaning? I dare you to come up with an answer that does not involve whining and moaning and gloom and doom.

Impossible?

I wish there'd be a bit more yellow around my home! It's got blighted land owned by 'rez and run' absentee Premiums on both sides!

There might be more and more yellow on PG/Mature mainland as people begin the feeding frenzy that will be Zindra land auctions.

Sorry....I have a ton of fun when I'm making profit...been that way ever since the lemonade stand at 6 years old. :) Can't really change that.

No, you can't change economics....but you can get creative to deal with it.

What if I talked one of the land owners into giving free tier for a month while I get creative on one of those lots. It's going to sit there vacant for a month anyway. What if I could cut a deal like that for you too?

Now is probably not a good time to be leery of truly good deals.

I meant that seriously. The pieces I am watching are commercial. But you could put residential rentals there. What if I could snag a large piece....have them cut it up in 4 pieces.....4 different people collaborate on 4 builds that would tie in together and make sense....negotiate first 30 days free tier.....(not to mention no cost for the land - do people pay for land anymore?)

.....with a commitment for the next 30 days.....you have 30 days to get yourself set-up and in place....operating and functioning.....and yeah, make some profit most definitely.....kind of like a Think Tank.

I see where you are going. Nice idea, but no thanks. I don't build and I am not interested in any sort of business ventures in SL.

Yeah...Think Tank is not the right phrase.

Maybe I could snag it with no commitment! Was just trying to sweeten the deal. But times are tough and call for drastic measures.

Actually SL is saving one of my RL mortgages. There weren't a lot of other immediate options on hand in this economy...amazing how creative you become under pressure. :) Same applies within SL.

This land holder has a ton of land. I'm not talking about someone who needs the sale or tier fee. It wouldn't even be a drop in the bucket to him. It would eliminate a piece of yellow....the right development on it might encourage sales on the surrounding yellow pieces....and he might gain a few tier payers from the experiment.

That could be done over and over again in SL....just like people are being forced to do in RL.

The more land is being added without the actual need for it, as has been happening for a year + the less attractive it becomes. I have now about 15 parcels that do absolutely nothing, but just sit there because there is no demand. They are all nice and in the past if there was a nice un-used lot, you would get tons of inquirees from neighbors trying to snag it from you.

My only contribution to this thread is that:

Everyone needs to solicit LL and make it clear to them that there is too much land. If more than 50% of a sim is for sale and nothing is selling for months.. there is way too much. They love it, because all these suckers keep buying new land as investments just to find out they are losing their ass in tier payments to LL. What they do not realize is that the more expensive and desirable existing Land is, the more L$ has to be purchased from the outside with real money. I believe that they would make more money this way than banking on this More Land = More Tier for us Strategy.

YOU CANNOT OWN ESTATE LAND !! you can only own Mainland or your own entire estate.. anybody telling you that you can own a piece of estate land is Lying to you and trying to get more money out of you! The only person that owns it is the person paying tier direct to LL and NOBODY else.
